NYC Shows/Just Announced Thread

Fountains of Wayne are playing at The Bell House (mid-Sept, I believe).

And Ive taken Bolt, Chinatown buses and Megabus. Theyre all about the same, but it seemed near impossible for me to change reservations and bus times when they didnt work (ie go earlier vs later) on Bolt (although that might have been Megabus). Never have had any sorts of problems even making changes with the Chinatown buses.
rumored:

Aug 22: Bowery Ballroom
Aug 23: Webster Hall
Aug 25: Terminal 5
Aug 26: Terminal 5

if correct, i'll be gunning for one (or both) T5 shows.

damn. i would love to see TTA.  is this part of an upcoming US tour?  i didn't see anything but euro dates on their myspace.
Telefon Tel Aviv….i thought one of the guys is dead….?
yeah, i'd really really like to see TTA as well.  hopefully there are more dates in the works but i have no insider info, i just got this through the bowery presents' weekly e-mail.  too bad it's on a weekend.  i'm only in the NYC area during the week so i won't be able to make this show.  mercury lounge is tiny, i think of it as NYC's backroom.

Death of Charles Cooper

On January 22, 2009, Eustis announced on the group's MySpace blog that Charles Cooper had died. The information also appeared on the band's website: "Charles Wesley Cooper III / April 12, 1977 - January 22, 2009". Two CBS2 Chicago articles about Cooper's death specify that he went missing on January 21 before being found dead by suicide.[2][3]

On January 30, 2009, Eustis posted on the group's MySpace blog that all tour plans have been cancelled and the future of the band is uncertain.[4]

On March 22, 2009, Eustis posted on the group's MySpace blog that he will perform on stage with a close friend of the group, Fredo Nogueira. [5]

Looking good for Sonic Circuits!
Well Im posting it here - because I dont know which venues in DC use LiveNation but these prices are hard to beat. Saw this on brooklynvegan. I just got my tix to see psych furs/happy mondays at roseland and for $10.50 w/service charges - cant be beat! :)

Live Nation has been dealing with the recession, or at least their recession, by putting tickets on sale like crazy this summer. They've been continuing week after week with their No Service Fee Wednesdays (for lawn tickets at amphitheater shows). This past Tuesday they sent multiple Santa Clauses to give out tickets outside Irving Plaza here in NYC. And there are $5.00 ticket promotions running for both Citi Cardmember holders and Subway sub eaters (code = Subway$5tix). NYC show tickets you can get for $5.00 include Pinback, Bob Mould, Son Volt, Alice in Chains AND STRYPER, Suffocation (playing with Necrophagist on Sunday), Marduk, Obituary, Vader and KMFDM, Brian Wilson in Westbury, and Motorhead, Psychedelic Furs, Happy Mondays, and Islands. Supposedly Pet Shop Boys are $5.00 too, but I can't get that to work.

Hey Seth….

holy shit!!! where did you see this?
I've recently gotten into the Manics, but Journal For Plague Lovers is one of my favorites of the year, and I think a 930 Club show would be terrific.
Come on Seth….Manics at 930!!! I had to go to Glastonbury in '99 to see them last time!
awesome definitely wont be missing this show. its a great week for shows in the city that week - placebo, happy mondays/psych furs and now the manics! havent seen them in such a long time - although the last show at Bimbo's was awesome!
