srsly?
I'm sure this is nothing/a Ticketmaster glitch, but this caught my eye: http://www.ticketmaster.com/Blur-tickets/artist/740429?camefrom=[=CAMEFROM=]&brand=tm&tm_link=artist_rc_image1

Blur in America in November?  Would be amazing.

It's a glitch, though, of course.
did you notice the date on that?

Tue, Nov 1, 2011

that's some serious long-term planning.

looks like this show is going to be streamed:

the "SPIN tab of our Facebook page" refers to Zync:

(if that doesn't work, try this one: http://www.facebook.com/zync?v=app_128764757143889)

… aaaaaaaaaand the stream SUX.  at least for me.  just got home from a trip, logged on - and the stream is constantly breaking up.  one second of music, one second of silence/pause, repeat.  i'm alone on a Fios connection so bandwidth isn't my issue.  probably theirs.

from the snippets i got (just got a solid 30 seconds, then dropped) it sounds great.  can't wait to hear back from the people who were at RCMH tonight.

edit: getting slightly better performance at http://www.livestream.com/spin25 - still not awesome, tho.  i'm sure lots of people are ripping the stream right now, i'll have to hunt it down tomorrow.  this is so tease.

thanks for sharing that, sweetcell.  it's working pretty well for me… but why am i always late to the party?!  just those few minutes took me back to that 9:30 show a couple years ago.  it was magical.

Wow, he's in three semi-famous bands, and I've never even heard of him.

Have you?

Cool. Is that UNKLE show part of a tour? And is it a live band and not just a Nevelle DJ set?
Yes and I think so.

It's like 4 American cities and one Mexican. Or three American and two Mexican. I forget.

Pitchfork has the list.
Ah ok. Wow, only NYC, LA, and SF. Come on, UNKLE are more popular than that!

And that's crazy that it's only a couple of days away from Massive Attack in NYC. My bday is the 21st, It'd be an awesome bday gift to see Gary Numan, Massive Attack, Thievery Corp, and UNKLE all within days of each other…

…expensive as hell on me, but awesome nonetheless!

It was somewhat disingenous for him to be credited in that manner*, seeing as he's done production for those three bands but isn't a member.

Jacknife Lee has been on my radar since 1998, when he was making breaks-style dance music, but he seems to have become better known for his production work in the past several years:

I would've thought so too… but I remember when I did the opening set for their D.C. appearance at Club Five in Nov. 2004, James Lavelle said that the turnout had varied widely among different shows on that tour.  So maybe some markets are better bets than others.

The Nov. 2004 tour was a live PA by James Lavelle and Richard File, but not a "band"-type performance.
Im sure this could be placed elsewhere - man jumped from mezzanine during Phish show @ Jones Beach, is in "critical but stable condition"

We should start a "Darwin Awards" thread for things like that.
