once again the jokes write themselves...

I think the immediate issue is, does a Democratic Senate, who doesn't need him for a majority and wouldn't have 60 even with him, really want to give him a posh committee chairmanship?
well there are four senate seats still in "play" so it's possible for the magic 60… he'd probably be more valuable to the dems if he were more maverick than weasel…

There is no way the Democrats win in Georgia. The only reason it's considered "too close to call" is because in that state someone must have 50% and the republican has 49.8%, the democrat around 47% and the libertarian almost 3%. In a run-off, who do you think those libertarians are voting for?

Also it's highly unlikely Alaska goes Dem. Stevens leads by a little under 4,000 votes with 40,000 absentee ballots (traditionally heavy Republican) left to be counted.

Minnesota and Oregon are viable chances though. But still, I don't think any sane person gives the democrats a punter's chance to win all 4 of those.
agreed… it's a tough call for sure on libermann..
it wouldnt be for me, kick his butt out!
mods…sweetcells post is racist.
Lieberman is a douche… he's got to go. It's hard to imagine that even the Republicans whose asses he kisses respect him. His approach bought him some power in a closely divided Senate… those days are gone for good now.

I don't know what's wrong with Connecticut… he must bring home a lot of pork.
i miss this thread already. So the conversation at work this mrning was that apparently some people believe that this early voting thing was somethin concocted by liberals to allow people to vote more than once.

discuss.
the markets seem to like the obama win.

LOL!
no, they are just reacting amazingly bad to his win.
you are right, i mean, i could have sworn that just minutes after Obama won the election, families across America were going to start paying up on their mortgages and going Christmas shopping.
Don't forget all of the terrorists dying horrible deaths ala Raiders of the Lost Ark:

indeed, that's the only thing the markets are reacting to. your understanding of politics is surpassed only by your understanding of economics.
what a disappointment!
youre right…the election of a US president has no effect on the market. none.
