Same here. And our Boy Scout (maybe Webelos) meetings were in the basement of the church rectory. I vividly recall cleric and minion opening the door to let us in and showing the way d-o-w-n-s-t-a-i-r-s. But never a notion of anything pedo from either church or scout leaders.
