The New York Post spotted Michael Cohen, who was released from federal prison in May to serve his sentence at home because of the pandemic, dining out Thursday night on the Upper East Side.

Why it matters: Legal experts told the paper that the meal may cost Cohen his freedom.

(Reuters) - Micheal Cohen, the former personal attorney for U.S. President Donald Trump, was taken into custody on Thursday, according to a lawyer for Cohen.

Michael Cohen was presented with 8 terms of home confinement this morning, 1 of which required him to agree not to talk to media, not to tweet or publish a book. He wouldn't agree and, after going back and forth for an hour and a half, was handcuffed, according to Lanny Davis

a federal judge has ordered that Michael Cohen be released from prison by tomorrow, saying the book publication restriction was "retaliatory."

Michael Cohen is free to speak to the media and write a book about President Trump while under home confinement, according to an agreement he reached with federal authorities filed in court Thursday.

Do we need a bankruptcy thread?

As that is typically not the best news, does not mean belly up

it’s used to prevent going out of business (although ends up screwing any business that did business with them and the taxpayers footing some of the bill)
Not sure what % of business that file actually end up going out of business?
Pedant

I mean WTF you sound like Trump…bankruptcy is a great thing

Sure companies can use it to restructure and emerge stronger - sometimes-but it’s not exactly a great thing…

All these companies going bankrupt is a very bad sign

depends what kind of bankruptcy you're taling about: Chapter 11 "Business Reorganization"; vs. Chapter 7 "Liquidation". in the first case the company is asking for protection from creditors while it (hopefully) addresses underlying issues in an attempt to return to solvency, while the latter is the company going out of business completely.  some percentage of chapter 11 filers manage to survive (i couldn't find the number), 100% of chapter 7's don't.

Virgin Atlantic is seeking chapter 15 protection, a rarity.
Truth…. chapter 7 belongs here
Never heard of chap 15!
Is there a chapter 1… maybe even a prologue?

The three craziest elements of this, in order from least crazy to most are:

1, this didn’t leak, he posted it himself
2, he captioned it in an attempt to explain away proactively the drinking not the sexual suggestiveness
3, it’s not of him and his pool boy who owns a fourth of Lynchburg
