man that's gonna leave a mark…being a non-sports guy…even I thought this was a bad plan

anything that trump thought was a good business idea 30 years ago seems destined to fail
but now he get's a $70 mill write off on all his profits from his other businesses….may have been the plan the whole time

Your second/third paragraph confuses me. Are you under the impression that Trump owns an AAF team or his USFL ownership is somehow impacted by this league (apparently) folding?

Trump has nothing to do with the AAF
I meant that he though an alternate football league was a good idea 30 years ago…and it failed
so would be good advice not to try it again based on that "Trump thought it was a good business idea"
I guess I'm still confused how Trump gets a $70mil writeoff because the AAF is folding? Or are you saying he did when his USFL team went kaput?

his point is that 30 years ago, trump thought it was a good idea and it went bankrupt (similar to his casinos, airline, steaks, vodka, etc.).  moral of the story: stay away from things that trump thought was a good idea 30 years ago, they're going to fail.

one of those things was an alternative football league.

lo and behold, 30 years later people resurrect the idea of an alternate football league - and it crashes and burns.  "if trumped touched it, you shouldn't".

that was his point.  nothing more.  at least per my reading.

"he" = AAF owner dude, not trump.

Aha. I was misapplying the pronoun to Trump as he was the last person mentioned. I follow now! My bad!
