Belly up, fired, and retired

I mean temperature is much better than walking off because of the smell of meat cooking at a festival….

Ric Ocasek's marriage (definitely)
Story

It seemed harsh to put this in the Schadenfreude thread as I know nothing about their relationship, but DAMN, Ric in his will….

“I will make no provisions for my wife because she abandoned me.”

damn, left his oldest sons out of the will too

Ocasek had disinherited his two oldest sons, Chris and Adam, from his first marriage

(he divorced the mom in 71 when she was 6 months pregant)

leaving behind six sons — two from each of his three marriages.

does sound like paulina will be fine with getting 1/3rd of his estate

Yes this is a very sad story I heard about years ago

Ric was a lot older than people think

Sometimes when people get old they lose their marbles or get bitter

Paulina found him dead cause she was bringing him breakfast or something…hardly sounds like abandonment …I think they actually still lived in same house

Inheritances are an interesting issue…there’s an argument to be made that you really shouldn’t inherit anything… I don’t believe anyone in my immediate blood 🩸 family ever inherited a dime …my dad was awful bitter about that…but curiously enough he is doing his utmost to disinherit me all but in name… i guess there is a difference between developing and developed countries…
Yeah, what I read is they were essentially separated but living in the same house for 5 years or more
but he was 75 and she was 54 (and still looking fine)
She definitely was having outside relations…but they were also married for 30 years too, so regardless, that should count for something
but this is an area one should not seek sidehatch advice

I'm a big fan of the estate tax, but not sure I agree that there shouldn't be inheritance at all

those funds should be taxed as they are new to you, not a 'death tax'
(Amazing a generation of GOPers were conned in to thinking this was a national priority. When it only impacts a few thousand very wealthy people a year)
Nancy Pelosi stepping down from House Leadership, but will remain in Congress (for now)

I'm sure. After two decades of living here, NBC4 is like family.

Vance, NBC Wendy, Doreen, Pat Collins, Bob Ryan, etc!
