How did I not know until yesterday that Dan Snyder had sold the Redskins? Did I sleep through the second half of July?

Nah, July 20. I was definitely here, working.

I don't really follow football.but why did they choose the name "Commanders?" Couldn't they have chosen a name that more respectfully tipped it's hat to the bravery and toughness of Native Americans, rather than a name that tips it's hat to politicians and military spooks?

I think the idea was anything Native American related should probably be avoided altogether. Also don't love Commanders. I actually thought Washington Football Club had some cache.
