Recommend some good movies!

Another great one I came to understand is an Argentine movie called Made in Argentina

Nothing from India seems like an oversight

Off the top kieslowski bleu and an almodovar should be there…I love atame

64. Three Colours: Blue (Krzysztof Kieślowski, 1993)
surprised there was no almodovar too that I can read from 1-100 and miss one of my favorites

Salaam Bombay! and The Lunchbox would both be on my list.
Free Solo is indeed pretty great.

I was shocked to learn that Alex is still with that insufferable girlfriend.
Black Kklansman and Blindspotting are like distant cousins and both are very entertaining, very poignant, and very on point.

She seemed lovely to me.
Golden Globe nominations….yes, Bohemian Rhapsody was entertaining….but best drama? Really? It got a 49 on metacritic…

And where the heck are any indie films? There were tons of good ones this year.

Best Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy
Crazy Rich Asians
The Favourite
Green Book
Mary Poppins Returns
Vice
Best Motion Picture – Drama
“Black Panther”
“BlacKkKlansman”
“Bohemian Rhapsody”
“If Beale Streat Could Talk”
“A Star Is Born
Does anybody care about the Globes….

They never been about indies…more of a popularity contest
The awards have become more about virtue signaling than rewarding cinematic excellence.
the one thing the GG has been good for over the last few years is TV
also been better at giving props to comedy which the Academy shuns
I would never actually watch the shows, but I like reviewing the noms and seeing who wins
How about the people’s choice awards hatch? You into that too?

no… that is about as good as the MTV awards
the best thing about A Star is Born is Andrew Dice Clay's performance as the Gaga character's dad
The Favourite is fun. Creed 2 is about what you'd expect.
Sorry to Bother You was really good.
New Netflix doc on the Fyre festival is dropping January 18.

I retract my statement from October regarding Halloween being the most fun I've had in a theater this year. That award goes to Sorry To Bother You. Wish more people had caught it.

I really hated that movie, it annoyed the fuck out of me. It was like it was trying way too hard to be weird. For a really great 2018 movie set in Oakland with a young black lead, see Blindspotting, not this one.
