Recommend some good movies!

Went to see Sinners at the AFI at one of the 70mm screenings.  Very glad to have seen it on the big screen with a packed audience.  The dance dream sequence is amazing.  Definitely a movie you need to see a couple times.

While looking at the soundtrack I learned that Alice Smith has a new song on it and while see what she’s up to found out she has show at Atlantis on Aug 1st

You should really go see Becoming Zeppelin, in imax if possible.

I’m not gonna say this again.

coming to Netflix on june 7 (a saturday!) (this saturday!), per the intertubes
Bring Her Back is extremely disturbing, with elements of body horror, psychological trauma and cult violence.

I loved it.

I saw this back at November at a fest and it's a B- at best.

Hey, a B- works for me.

Its probably a “C” on “how good a movie is this on the merits” and I bump it up because I love Pavement. YMMV.
Another reminder that AFI is discounting most movies to $8 for current and former feds, through the summer.

Space doesn't seem his normal cheerful self as of late, so I wanted to lay off on the jokes, but this was prime.
if Pavement: The Movie doesn't work for ya, there's always Turnstile: The Movie.

It's Never Over, Jeff Buckley is a 2025 American documentary film, directed and produced by Amy Berg. It follows the life and career of musician Jeff Buckley.

Aug 8 theatrical release
Then on hbo in the winter
Kanopy, likely available via your local library system, really is treasure trove of music documentaries.  Lots to choose from, including ones on local punk scene’s.

Today I watched

Pulp: A Film about Life, Death and Supermarkets  it was filmed in Sheffield at the time of their prior last Uk in 2013. It’s as much about people of the city as that concert.  Would recommend

Color Me Impressed which is the crowd funded oral history by the fans of The Replacements.  It’s kinda of like a well done podcast with appearances by people who knew them in their early days, a number of the well known rock writers, bands influenced by them and just people who were fans.  Obviously no involvement with the band and no rights secured for music, etc.  I enjoyed it, but would think it’s for a more hardcore fan.

Wrapping up with Urgh! A Music War which of course captures live a lot of bands likely at their peak in the early 80s.  And would to see getting to see Klaus Naomi live must have been a show to behold.
Strong agree on Kanopy being an amazing selection.

I finally watched Skinamarink last night. I know it’s polarizing, but I loved it.

I’m slowly making my way through this list. I’ve realized I’m horrible at remembering which movies I’ve already seen.
what list?
funny my SO has watched movies with me, that we have picked together… to get almost to the end and say "I've already watched this"
