Recommend some good movies!

I'll say it once again:

and of course this classic, filmed in Ocean City, MD. Can't for the life of me figure out how they got Susan Sarandon to appear in this one.  "Like the Karate Kid but with hip hop and ping pong"!!!

That tagline is incredible. Holy shit.

She was also in the tv show Search Party, which though I admit to watching, seems a little beneath her
Heretic.

Great movie, though not perfect. May see it again soon.
I watched a movie last night. First one I wanted to watch in years.

To Rome With Love

I thought it was fantastic. Definitely top tier Woody Allen. Very felliniesque.
Anora is absolutely as good as the hype.
The Umbrellas of Cherbourg

Rap World
Becoming Zeppelin

Has anyone here seen Hundreds of Beavers?
Watched it over the holidays and whiles it's a little long for what it is (an early 20th century silent slapstick), it was enjoyable escapism.
It's weird, silly (and again maybe a little long) and relatively low budget, but it was a welcome diversion from life's BS.

I thought it was a lot of fun and such a unique style. Obviously apes a lot from video games.

FWIW, my female friend who is not a video game person thought it was her favorite movie of the year. Its quite cute.

Believe it or not half the worlds population (roughly) is female. And some of them are friends with me just like you all. Ingest those details.

I am not Relaxer. I do not steal other people’s shticks. This is what you’re getting.
Female friends, when you are gay, are so special. Everyone is all lovely dovey, and cuddletastic . . . because no one wants in each other's pants.

Just remember, keep telling them that you are gay, because everyone hates those bi people.
Apropos of the thread and my prescient (I swear) post
AFI Silver is having select showings of Hundreds of Beavers this weekend and into Feb.
Hoping I can make it, the wife says it was too long and she would rather see A Complete Unknown. Probably to make up for us not seeing Dylan in Baltimore, or ever, or just a low-key Chalamet crush.

Wikipedia lists the budget of HOB at $150,000. Can that be right???

Anyway thanks for the recommendation…that was kind of amazing

That budget is correct. It’s quite the darling in the cinema world as a result.
