Recommend some good movies!

Wakanda Forever, was the biggest pile of Marvel shit I have ever seen. The worst. Wow. Were people just pretending to like it because of the death? Even the way they killed him off in the beginning was bullshit.

Boo, this movie.

I assume we were supposed to like it because black people.

Note: I didn't see it, though I like black people. At least as much as I do any other people.

oh that is so good
This is one of the best Best International Feature races in a while. EO and Close are spectacular.

All Quiet In The Western Front was pretty good too and (sadly) will likely win.

Argentina 1985 bored me to tears, no shade at Hutch intended.
Happy 10th anniversary of Spring Breakers to all you who may celebrate. May you be blessed with shorts in every color.
If you are a fan of the Luther TV series proceed with caution regarding the Luther Movie.

The movies isn't horrible it's just missing most of the elements that made the series great, no witty banter, the crazy developed over a couple episodes, etc.

The movie is basically Luther re-imaged as a Bond type agent/action movie, will well numerous plot holes.

I watched the Whale last night and liked it more than I thought I would. Really good.

But then again, I'm a sucker for dysfunctional family dramas.

That said, I agree with Team Butler that their guy should have gotten the Oscar.

Though I enjoyed the Whale more than the Elvis movie.
I didn't care about Butler in Elvis at all. I was Team Fraser but only because I knew Paul Mescal in Aftersun wasn't actually going to have a shot.
I really want to see this, why can't they have a screening in Georgetown/Arlington

WE ARE FUGAZI FROM WASHINGTON, DC returns to AFI Silver for one week beginning this Friday April 7 through April 13. https://bit.ly/WeAreFugaziFromDC
Not a big rom-com guy. (Is any guy?) But Rye Lane was a good watch.
oh… the movie thread… The Whale… Depressing as all hell (I expected that, but wow).

Did I like it? I didn't not like it.
Interestingly enough, watched two movies… "All Quiet on the Western Front" was the other. Maybe more depressing than The Whale.
Which one to watch first on Netflix this weekend. It's going to be a hard decision. A German comedy called "Hard Feelings" in which teen's genitals start talking to them, or a Swedish comedy called "The Year I Started Masturbating."

I think genitals speaking in German probably wins.

So I ended up passing on both of those and watched this most excellent film instead. I'll take watching this film over watching a Foo Fighters show any night of the week.

Reality
Streaming on Max.
Wouldn't be surprised if this picked up a nomination or two.
