that's an interesting stat, I think it's inefficient to a large degree, but those dollars are usually creating jobs somewhere and those people are spending that money into the economy, creating more jobs  (I agree, the military is a different animal and different arguments need to be made there)

You save a wealthy person $25k on their tax bill, do you think they go out and create new jobs
not likely, they do it based on what the market wants not paying less in taxes

and yes, I do think a lot of wealthy people are selfish and 'mine mine mine…I earned it'  when the reality is they won the birth lottery or were lucky

also The national median family income for the United States for FY 2021 is $79,900,

so I'd say the VAST majority of Americans' think $250k is loaded
the DMV has 7 of the richest 10 counties in all of the country
And why is the DMV loaded? As you yourself said because of wasteful government spending

But wasteful government spending is good?

Dude… how about government spend that money on the rest of the country?

So many defense industry “consultants” in Arlington… kind of grosses me out lately

But yeah government spending is great
almost could have gone in the walkie thread due to the comma in the punch line

Just so you know……

cross posting to Musicological banter thread as it was T-Pains tweet that got Napster trending..

i was reminded of the time when Napster partnered with power popsters The Rosenbergs to distribute a second copy of their album that you could share with your friend, needless to say that ended really backfiring on them..  a real Behind The Music here in this long read

https://www.powerpopaholic.com/artist-interviews/what-happened-to-the-rosenbergs

and i had forgotten about the whole run they had over the Farmcamp.com contract they were offered.

Man, those are some presumptuous liner notes…
"I feel that before we become huge and choose to isolate ouselves from our fans…"

would eventually sign an unprecedented deal allowing us to retain ownership of our masters in exchange for a share of profits across the board guess that ended up being worth nothing..

so insignificant they don't even have a wiki page
was the music any good?
Was listening to The Rosenbergs today and for Power Pop they hold up pretty well, at the time they were one of my favorite bands.

Surprised they don’t have a wiki entry given their history, especially with taking on major labels.
As told to Kosmo on Twitter . . . my real name is my name because of my awesome Mom.  My Dad wanted me to be called another name, after his German family heritage, but my Mom said no way in fucking hell.
