Anyone need a bluesky invite?
Justin did you get yours? I DMed it to you via the forum
And even with kitten pictures and a Wet Leg reference, my social media reach is minuscule
Got it but haven't activated yet. Probably this coming weekend. Thanks!
not really sure that bluesky is any better than twitter.
Well, I'm not seeing an ad every other tweet, or seeing Nazis, so it's at least better in that regard. I don't know if it really has the juice to replace it, but I will say I sometimes forget to even look at Twitter to kill time. Definitely could use more stuff to rile up the blood, because let's face it, that's why we're all on the internet to begin with.
A "hide retweets" option on people you follow would immediately bump up the fun factor tho.

I have no issues with Twitter. Lately I pretty much only follow Argentines on it and it’s been great. Primary election on Sunday. Tons of great soccer stuff.
The owner is a bit strange and socially awkward though….

For example, you're not getting this kind of good shit on Bluesky: https://twitter.com/Acyn/status/1688990628976398337

Just cause you don’t see “Nazis” doesn’t mean they are not out there. And using the word nazi seems a little out there….currently reading Primo Levy’s memoirs about Auschwitz….those are Nazis
Not sure the point of hiding 🙈 where everyone agrees with each other….

I mean the nazi content in my feed did pick up a notch with Elon took over
I do enjoy seeing content from across the spectrum and feel my bluesky so far is just an echo chamber
Moving to the proper thread, i think?
Don't get me wrong, I did and still do love talking to Conservatives abouthow evil they are their beliefs vs. mine, but it's not like they suddenly got more hateful in the last 10 years…they just don't' feel the need to hide it behind some Ayn Rand, fiscal responsibility nonsense. They'll just tell you they want to exterminate our trans community or grind up the poor to lubricate the gears of their super yachts

I used to love talking about it with Conservatives/GOP types and legitimately wanted to hear their side of the issue
Just realized I have two Bluesky invites if anyone is looking.
Seems right

a twitter account i'm subbed to has invited its followers to switch over to tribel.com - yeay, yet another option.
folks need to coalesce around one alternative. social networks gain in value/usefulness as the number of users increases. with everyone split between bluesky, threads, mastodon, tribel, etc etc etc, twitter is going to persist as the only real option.
So twitter is now every third tweet some craptastic ad and now he wants to make sure all the scum fluffing him can see your tweets by removing the block feature. …
soon the only people using that hellscape will be people whose "content" you don't ever want to see and the brands forced to have to do customer service, over there etc
fingers crossed threads becomes more musically oriented soon…

I think I read there are still over 200 million Twitter users. Are you saying they soon will all stop using?

Someone built a frontend to Reddit that looks like Outlook so you can browse it all day at work without worrying about who is looking over your shoulder.
I love the internet.
