By the numbers: Prince Alwaleed bin Talal, founder and chairman of the Kingdom Holding Company, said the company would continue its ownership of Twitter shares valued at $1.89 billion after Musk completed the deal, making it Twitter's second largest investor.
I mean, they are the 2nd largest…but they only control less than 5%, so really don't 'control the company' by any means Im aware of

the part that's scary is that Elon took the company private.  that means there are no more shares, at least not in the traditional sense.  there will be no more annual investor meetings, proxy votes to confirm leadership, etc. - unless Elon and the Saudis agreed to these trappings of publicly traded companies (doubtful).  who knows what kind of a deal they struck.  "Hey Mr. Musk, we'll reducing your financing burden - and associated interest payments - by $1.89 billion, in return for 'privileged access' to Twitter's data…"  who knows?

maybe?
they are fairly evil IMO, on a different level than Elon
they have surely used it to crack down on disent

So do we care about the Saudi citizens now?

surprises me as they are not white?
Dude it’s not about Saudi citizens..it’s about American citizens…
lol.  #TrumpIsDead is trending.  unfortunately he isn't actually dead, it's just folks playing around with the new freedom from facts that the Elon Era has brought us on twitter.  truth doesn't matter, popularity does.

enjoy, elon, you both bought and brought this.

so are you implying that saudis are using twitter info to get US citizens?

yes there was a case in that article
The U.S. Department of State earlier this month also confirmed that the kingdom had sentenced an American citizen, Saad Ibrahim Almadi, to 16 years in prison for posting tweets critical of the Saudi government.

Yes it's dangerous for US citizens (or dual citizens) to criticize the saudi gov't on Saudi soil (if he'd never gone to SA he would have been fine)

I just want to know how the Saudi's involvement with twitter is putting Americans at risk
this is a serious question as I really don't see it?

Now is the SA gov't a bunch of corrupt authoritarians that could care less about their citizens
yes
but does that put Americans in danger
I'd say no
Sidehatch I love you but you’re bringing me down.
Maybe I'm wrong
And maybe you're right

Maybe I'm wrong
And just maybe you're right
^that was a great read, just what I needed to put me in a good mood
HA!
can't verify…but great even if just comedy

@santiagomayer_
An outgoing Twitter employee suspended Elon Musk’s account on their way out

Drats, it was the fake one
Santiago is mistaking the account which has an upper case I so the account is eionmusk eIonmusk - you can't tell the difference
So how long do we give Twitter given all what’s going on there?

I noticed almost no ads today, guess he fired those people today.. last night the ads were crazy including people paying to promote their accounts with a big follow button included…

Personally I find Twitter useful for following and get updates on favorite artists.. and it’s easy to discover new ones as well.. I could easily reduce the noise in my timeline with muting words, etc but whatever… I avoid reading the replies and will most definitely never argue with someone in the replies

welp the race is on
I don’t think I will quit Twitter.
Me neither and at the moment other the usual suspects carrying about el0n its functioning as normal for me, artists/band /labels continue to promote their albums and tours

Im on counter.social and not seeing an benefit from it..

Instagram and Facebook get boring really fast whenever I check them

And if you use Twitter as a source of election information, then best of luck with that

Many large companies paused their Ad contracts pending more information on content moderation policies.  That is much more likely the cause - Musk even said so.
I am able sometimes to interact with my favorite musicians. I will give it up when they do…. Since most musicians are fairy liberal they will be a good barometer
And Tom cotton came out a said a really dumb thing… oh wait he said it to fire up his  even dumber base

American Fuck Yeah
