Yeah, leaving is a misnomer. You can really only check out.

The Vanishing Timestamps
I was just hearing the chatter about that, such an odd change elmo did
Must say, I'm finally warming up to bluesky and avoiding twitter

Someone surmised it might have due to that graph that showed all the times Elonia posted at night and hard to be a credible source of news without timestamps..

i'm less worried about elmo's late-night fever-posts, and more concerned about how this could be used to spread even more disinformation on that hellscape:

While editing posts is a novel feature for paid users, it also opens up the possibility of misinformation being spread. Bad faith users could publish a post saying one thing and derive a ton of reactions and responses only to change it afterwards. Without any recognizable paper trail, this opens up the possibility of abuse on the platform. (source)

elmo didn't buy twitter as a financial investment.  the changes he's brought* are for political purposes - killing moderation (notably around hate speech and disinformation) thus allowing any and all BS, putting links to trump's campaign on the homepage that disappeared the day after the election, removing pronouns, remove ability to block, removing certain topics from the For You page (Ex: Ukraine War no longer exists as of about a week ago), etc etc etc

*some changes he made were in response to twitter's declining financial situation, ex: staff cuts… but the financial situation was a result of the political changes

i'm still on twitter because that's where the info war on Ukraine is taking place, but gawdamn i'm deleting that app the second that the war is over.
speaking of:

Musk spent more than a quarter-billion dollars to elect Trump

technically, he spent 44-and-a-quarter billion… but what's a few billion here and a few billion there?  (paging jules, natch)
Oh dang Nancy mace…how quickly you have fallen

First she makes up a crazy assault story
https://x.com/nancymace/status/1866659978108617037?s=46&t=jcACWCl5JrMz2nxLe-LAMw

Then wore a sling to Capitol Hill today

Then thinks she is logged into her burner account and starts posting

Ok, I at one time liked this person and thought there was a glimmer of hope that she was a reasonable human
I am Chatham stance and retract any support I had once given her
All that applies for me regarding Fetterman… dude has seriously lost the plot… joined “truth” social
Yeah I don’t know….he sort of knew the plot enough regarding PA
I, correctly, hated this guy from day one and for the correct reason: he's dumb looking and had that terrible Ras al Ghul-ass goatee.

Whoa this story about Charlie Javice is crazy
https://x.com/iamluismalheiro/status/1873711893497753709

Her story joins Elizabeth Holmes and Sam Bankman-Fried in a cautionary trilogy.

Young founders who chose:
• Deception over authenticity
• Marketing over substance
• Shortcuts over real solutions.

Brianna Keilar: Do you think that calling Elon Musk a dick is effective messaging?
