as been said many times before, you can't believe a word he says…

Trump just told Fox that he would not re-join Twitter even if Elon Musk unbanned him and he would stay on his Truth Social platform.

oh reminder, TS has been live for a while, not a single post from our dear leader…today seems like a good day to post

How many times can your fav pundit say "PR shift" without acknowledging that Tesla does not have a PR team any longer.  Musk does not believe in “manipulating public opinion” which is apparently what he thinks a PR team does.

Let's talk about the $2-3b more Musk agreed to pay for a childish joke.  That's the real story.  At $44.20 twitter's like "nah" but for $54.20 (38% over value) they're like "sure man, no problem.  It would be a disservice to shareholders to NOT accept that offer."

people are losing their minds over this Musk buyout of twitter

I heard comparisons to when Bezos took over the WP…but nothing really happened (well possibly some more favorable coverage of AMZ, but not even that tbh)

By the numbers: Here are Musk's targets, per the Times:

Boost annual revenue to $26.4 billion by 2028, compared to $5 billion last year.
Get to nearly 1 billion users. Musk's goal is 600 million users by 2025, up from 217 million last year, and 931 million by 2028.
Cut the percentage of revenue from ads to 50%. (Ads were about 90% of revenue in 2020, the Times notes.)
Boost paid subscriptions, including growing Twitter Blue (currently $3 per month) to 69 million paying users by 2025 and 159 million by 2028.

this last one is absurd, he is not going to get 69mil users to pay $3 a month
never going to happen

There is always an attempt to ascribe a rationale to his actions because he must be a genius but often he does crazy things for which there is little possible rationale.

At least that’s the way I see it…

And if he needs soon to be 76 year old Trump tweeting for Twitter to meet his targets he is crazier than even I thought.
