No Orioles on the list.
Speaking of bad advice from an agent….

Ian Desmond signs a one year,  $8m deal with the Rangers.

That's a far cry from 7 years,  $107m.
^ which means the Nat's gain an extra draft pick slotted in between the first and second rounds…. so basically with that one year deal, Desmond is betting on himself to have a big year and re-establish his value….
well the Rangers specialize in roids so there is that going for him..
this is one of the few times where using the system in place actually cost a player some money, but you can bet the players (and agents) are gonna whine about how awful it is that he got so "little" because of the system in place as it relates to draft pick compensation… meanwhile, never mind about the 7 year/100 mil contract he turned down, he could have had a one year contract for 15.3M and been a free agent again next year (like he's going to be anyway) if he had just taken the Nat's qualifying offer a few months ago….
How and why is Curt Schilling still employed by ESPN?

I don't know.. he is a nasty guy.. even as commentator talking about baseball it comes through..

I'm guessing he is still employed because he had a tough battle with cancer just last year and firing him might seem harsh to some?
'Whatever precisely happened (or didn?t) between Farrell and Moran that led to her quitting is unclear, but there seems to be an established pattern of reporters getting involved with Red Sox players and managers, or at least rumored to be.'

Juicy
Austin Jackson signed with the White Sox for the same money he turned down from Anaheim (1-year, $5m).

Not sure if he didn't want to play left field, or maybe not bat lead off?  I can't imagine it's because he couldn't beat out Daniel Nava or Craig Gentry…
There's gotta be more to that LaRoche story, right?

makes you wonder….. would a guy walk away from $13M solely because the team asked him to just not bring his kid into the clubhouse EVERY SINGLE DAY??….
My Nats friends say Drake was clubhouse mainstay and was always around with the Nats.  LaRoche would take a stand on this.

I have a feeling he's going to walk this back.

We?re not big on school. I told my wife, ?He?s going to learn a lot more useful information in the clubhouse than he will in the classroom, as far as life lessons.' "

Sounds like he's gone.

White Sox can't believe their luck…
DBacks AJ Pollack fractures elbow tonight. Brutal loss for AZ.

Gone, finally.
