I guess they should be glad he didn't get the 5th year (only an AL team would do that), but they need a CF to make this work.  He was AWFUL in center last season….
The dollars continue to astound.  If I were an all-star in the 70s and were still alive I think I'd shoot myself in the head.

Labor.  As if.
Home-field advantage in the World Series will no longer be decided by which league wins the All-Star Game. Instead, World Series game 1, 2, 6, and 7 will be played in the ballpark of the pennant-winner with the better record.

'Baseball?s Winter Meetings, the industry?s annual extravaganza, trade show, convention, marketplace, rumorfest and celebration of the Cult of the General Manager, comes to the shores of the Potomac River for the first time in its history next week, which means you can count on a few things:

There will be many jokes in the baseball media about Washington dysfunction and gridlock anytime trade talks or free-agent negotiations reach an impasse.
There will be an army of fresh-faced, blue-blazered job seekers on hand to rival the one soon to be descending on Capitol Hill.
And there will be trades made, perhaps even a blockbuster or two.'

I guess McCutchen to the Nats will happen now.
Nats give away Espinosa to the Angels…
How, how horrible is the new intentional walk rule?
Why is it horrible? How often does one of the four tosses to the catcher actually do anything other the intended result?
