I know, right? Shutting down the schools is not going to help if people aren't doing social distancing. And they're just not. Friday, I rode my bike past a local rec center. 20-30 teen and young adult Latinos playing soccer. Story on CNN this morning about California beaches and hiking trails being open in spite of governor's shelter in place order.

I'll be ok with this if they can come up with some kind of online distance learning. But likely they can't, because of accessibility and equity legal issues. And even if they do, it will be hastily put together. Unfortunately, we now live in a society where both parents work, making homeschooling a crapshoot.

I'm sorry, I just don't think social distancing is going to work here in America. Neither is martial law to enforce it. Neither is 20% unemployment with schools shut down for multiple years.

Sounds like your best move is to relocate to another country.

What are low income families without childcare going to do, if both parents work? What are they going to do if both parents lose their jobs?
