What this article skips over is that Saturday night, the Red Sox were in town. And when they are in town, the Red Sox fans come and act like total and complete assholes. In turn, some of the more "bro" Baltimore fans also act like assholes. I don't even like going to game where the Orioles play the Red Sox because the fans turn into total shit heads. It would have been interesting to see what might have happened had it been just a regular Orioles game.
I've been to Fenway, and the fans there were great. The fans who come to the Yard are not.

Generally agree with all of that - they're actually worse than Yankees fans.
The crowd at Fenway is surprisingly tame. But I doubt many of them actually care about baseball.

I've been going up for Red Sox/O's games for nearly 20 years. This phenomena of the crowd really being shitty on both sides only started like 3-4 years ago when O's fans started going to the games. Prior to that when it was like 90% Sox fans it was always quite pleasant.

I went to Tigers at O's last year and it was bizarrely contentious. I never really pictured either team as having a huge douche contingency but everyone was getting under each other's skin for those two games for some reason.
