Rumor: Smashing Pumpkins at 9:30 Club July 10th

Oh, and I forgot to give a public thank you to Wanderlust (hope it's ok now the show's over) for coming through with the ticket, F'n champ this guy and he's from California so he gets bonus points! Really appreciated it.

i'm super jealous of your maximo park show. i want a full review by the way…
I controlled the drinking last night. After four drinks, humping your leg will not be a problem.

And of course, it's always a pleasure to see sweetcell and Joe, who didn't sexually harass me at all.

But yea, staff handled the pass-outers very well, and afterwards starting handing out free water.
Isn't there usually a pitcher of free ice water on the bar? I'ved noticed this the last few times I've been there.
Yes, but people in the front refused to leave to get water in fears of losing their place…thats why some of them were passing out.

Absolutely, I'll write it on my flight home in the morning because after the show I'm going to try and make up for not sleeping for last few days.

I just made it to Boston and I'm speaking in less than an hour, still have a bit of a hangover (from both the music and backbar action last nite) that should go over well with the kiddies, dude from DC with the bloodshot eyes and slurring his words…where are our tax dollars going? :D

Monsters are Waiting are playing as well so it should be a good night overall, I'm pretty psyched.
did anyone get any good recordings (audio or video) from last nights show?

I only saw one youtube video

Wow, what a show. I must admit, the crowd was a little dead by the end, but Gossamer is a bit hard to stomach unless you're a hardcore fan who's heard the bootlegs. To be honest, after seeing the intended setlist, I'd rather they'd dropped Gossamer and given us the 3 songs they didn't play - Silverfuck, To Shelia, With Every Light (that would take the same amount of time). As people said, highlights of the night were TAFH, Starla, Hummer, etc. The new stuff sounds good.

Glad to meet everyone - miss p, sweetcell, bnyced0, nkotb, the director, joe marshmellow, etc, etc. Quite a long drive back but a blast all the same.

My apoligies to Kevin Craig who I think I was right in front of and then my friend jumped in with me. I know that's a dick move on his part, but like I said, anyone who had a problem with it and wanted in front of us was more then welcome. Hope there's no hard feelings.
welcome! thanks for the drinks. The 2nd one had like 80% vodka! haha

No worries…I could care less about being in front. I was just worried about my midget girlfriend not being able to see.

You guys were cool about letting us go head. Besides, I got to take out my anger in the form of protest anyway :D

We made it back home to Richmond all safe and sound. Only saw one scalper scum couple who got two pair of ticekts meet up with the people they sold the guest tickets to for $250 each on evil-Bey. Scum bastards had the look like they had ZERO desire to be there other than to take someone's $250. I think they got figured out by the appropriate people… :) The show was amazing although I personally didnt get into the acoustic portion all that much. I'm sure most really thought that part kicked ass. All in all a pretty damn good evening, but Im tired now and heading to bed!
What did the scalper scum couple look like? I think I might have been right behind them but can't say for sure.
He was wearing a Dusquene Football shirt (spelling) she had on sunglasses and some shirt witha green shirt underneath. I REALLY hate making judgements about fols prima facia, however knowing for a fact they scalped their extar two for $250 each kind of puts in on another level. Both looked like they could give a shit less to be there and the only reason they were was because they had to be to get their money. I was SOOOOOOO tempted to say something like "So $500 that should get y'all enough beer for a few shows huh?", but I could easily see that brewing into big shit and I didnt want to deal with that. Maybe next time I'll wear a crappy tshirt and have a sharpie. Then I can just write on it, the people behind me in line are scalpers… :)
Oh, and Rat Bastard, thanks for the Mountain Dew in line. Another class act!

Also for whoever mentioned the girl up front who went to 7 asheville shows (Angie), she's OK. She actually watched the rest of the show from the side of the stage where the keyboardist ran off to on songs she didn't play. So she made out OK, haha.
for a show that was a rumor, ya'll seemed to have a really good time

RatBastard, did those kids ever get tickets?

Even if they didnt, it was still fun trying out different accents…

I kind of don't feel bad if they didn't - they really weren't trying very hard. Between their plan to beg the band for tickets when they showed up and then not knowing who was in the band (to Jeff: "Hey, are you with Smashing Pumpkins") and never walking to the back of the line to ask if anyone had an extra, they really didn't seem to know how to pull off the "get a ticket at the door" thing.
