I doubt they will sell tickets at an outlet…all tickets are will-call.

OK and I have a bounty on Fritz Hanz's scalp, not only does he announce the phreekin show, but he makes it editors choice, provides onsale date AND time, and encourages people to blow off V Fest?!

Another on the long list of those dead to me, since when did the washington post report NEWS
I tried to leave a review (at the bottom) to let him know what I thought about the announcement but alas approval is required.

There's a sliver of hope the scalpers stay away, especially considering the short time til the show to come up with something to thwart the safeguards, but they (scalpers) are all messengers of satan so…..

2 ticket limit for this event per household, customer, credit card number and email address. Patrons who exceed the ticket limit will have their order cancelled automatically. All tickets non-transferable. No name changes for will-call once order is complete. All sales will-call only. Tickets will be available for pick up night of show only. Photo ID required.

…..but that policy is nice!
I say it sells out in 2 minutes flat.

i was going to say shorter… but with the automatic cancellation policy in effect it might string out..

ok so Vansmack called dibs on the Hammock, i've got of the lounge chairs, that leaves several other places to sit and watch the post sale fallout from… which should go something like this

SOLD OUT WTF
Had 1000 browser sessions open on a Cray there is NO way I shouldn't have gotten tickets.
Is It really SOLD OUT?
Tickets.com sucks This Virtual Waiting room sucks, They need to get new servers
The lawyers can wait, we've got ticket flippers to take care of first.
Ticket Brokers are such DOUCHEBAGS
I have T1 connection at work. Is that the best?!

I tried to get Incubus tickets for my friend's b-day and Justin Timberlake tickets fr my stepsister. I hated both of those situations, I can't deal with trying to get MYSELF tickets and failing. I'd rather sleep-in. But…. i'll still try.

nah, tickets.com's servers don't have the capacity to deal with the surge - so orders will go through slowly. since it'll take some 500 orders to sell out, and i'm utterly unconvinced that the system can handle more than, say, 4 orders at a time… might take hours.

i realize that even if tickets.com upgraded their system and added capacity, it wouldn't change the fact that most people (first among them me) will still be shut out - it's just that it would be nice to get that info faster, not be dicked around in endless viritual waiting rooms, and not be teased with almost-complete orders that time out.

(see, kosmo, i'm complaining about tickets.com before the sale has even started! :) )
since i'm certain I'm going to end up in there on Friday, can anybody testify to the "virtual waiting room" actually resulting in getting tickets? Every time i've gotten stuck in there I've gotten locked out.

Stick it out, I ended up getting Justin Timberlake tickets that way.
Annnnnnnnnnnnnnnd a major "fuck you" to whoever that is selling tickets for 500 a pair on Craigslist already.

This really is funny!
Just for the record, if we're in the virtual waiting room, what do we do? Just sit there? Hit refresh every 30 seconds?

And you don't think there won't be a HUGE mention of it in the full page 9:30 Club ad in the City Paper on Thursday thereby informing people?

Because City Paper has the same size audience as the Washington Post…

If anything the City Paper targets more of the demographic that would be going to the Smashing Pumpkins show as opposed to the Post. Bottom line, the show ain't gonna be anyones secret haha
just moved the first new SP thread to the FAQ section…

Note this is a unofficial response but this same info can be found on the 930 website under ticket info. So unless the boxoffice opens early on Friday tickets will at minimum be only available online. Can't answer the question about phone sales at 10am…

The 9:30 Club Box Office Hours (815 V St. N.W.)
12-7pm M-F
12-11pm M-F during show nights only
6-11pm SAT. during show nights only
6-10:30pm SUN. during show nights only

it was pointed out by tickets.com after beastie boys tickets went on sale is that the virtual rooms go in order to protect the servers from crashing while it's processing the orders, while people continue to refresh their browsers. i would sure hope that tickets.com can fulfill the first 500 or orders efficiently.
Ticket price is $30.
