How do rock critics occupy themselves while watching a concert? After noticing furious text - messaging between The Post's J. Freedom du Lac and washingtonpost.com's David Malitz during Tuesday night's marathon Smashing Pumpkins show, we demanded they turn over the goods.

Remember the two kids up front who had no tickets but camped out all day? They got chut out, but tell their story in harrowing detail. Most of us towards the front of the line are either mocked or insulted. Glad they're not bitter!

They have no mention of us all calling tickets.com like 800 times to see if any tickets had been released for them.

They also refused to ever walk up and down the line and go "anyone got extras?" All sorts of people got in because people's friends didn't show up, etc. They were kinda idiots.

i don't think these were the same people, but there were two teens that had the lamest "need tickets" sign ever, you couldn't read it from more than 5 feet away. they walked up and down the line, but didn't talk to anyone.

those kids were good conversation fodder. at one point we wanted to take up a collection for them - no, not money to buy a ticket, but for a marker so they could make a legible sign. during a bathroom break i saw them outside the front doors, trying to catch whatever sounds were making it out to the sidewalk. definitely felt sorry for them, they were obviously "real fans".

What did the scalper scum couple look like? I think I might have been right behind them but can't say for sure.

He was wearing a Dusquene Football shirt (spelling) she had on sunglasses and some shirt witha green shirt underneath. I REALLY hate making judgements about fols prima facia, however knowing for a fact they scalped their extar two for $250 each kind of puts in on another level. Both looked like they could give a shit less to be there and the only reason they were was because they had to be to get their money. I was SOOOOOOO tempted to say something like "So $500 that should get y'all enough beer for a few shows huh?", but I could easily see that brewing into big shit and I didnt want to deal with that. Maybe next time I'll wear a crappy tshirt and have a sharpie. Then I can just write on it, the people behind me in line are scalpers… :)

I forgot to mention that this was the same guy who was in here catching crap earlier for being a scalper in the thread before tickets started dropping. He looked like he should have been wearing a shirt that said 'my pussy is bigger than hers' with one of those pointing hand directed towards his 'girlfriend'. The chick that was with him was such a bitch I wouldn't have talked to her if she was the last woman (I am assuming she was a woman) on earth. Quite the couple. They deserved each other.
