at least you got treated (somewhat) that same evening.

I'm just saying, if they could've gotten the $$ for a room (since I have insurance)
Except that that would be fraud - easily in the top 10 reasons for increased health care costs in America.

I'm sorry this happened to you and it's a shitty night over all, but I agree with the hospital. And don't think anything would have been different in France - the doctors would probably have been on strike.

Being a realist. I don't think he deserved a room and I wouldn't have tought a hospital would give me one if I had the same ailment.

Insurance is for medical coverage, not hotel coverage. The reality is, his eye injury changed his plans for the night, but that means he should have gotten a hotel room, not a hospital bed.
Don't be such a douchebag, "vansmack." What if it was your "smackette" or "Smurfette" or whatever the f you call her? Would you still be so "Well, the hospital did the right thing, you should blame the youth hostel?" Quit smelling your own farts. Jules, should have been treated a LOT better by the hospital. And this is coming from a family that actually HAS some people in it who are doctors and medical professionals. Not some misguided DC hipster who thinks he knows everything. I'm sorry if I interrupted your NPR, fogged up your glasses or broke your precious iPod.

So this is now a hipster thing?? Nice! i was in a similar situation - and got the same result. the difference was i had NO insurance at the time. stupid lapse or something. I also walked out with a $1000 bill. They treated me for my ailment, and the only difference was they called my parents for me (at my request). i wasnt functionable (long story) and really out of it, so there was no way i could drive.

but i too had to wait in the waiting room for them to come. I was in ER and it was New Years Day and plenty of us were there for all sorts of things. Even if they had a spare bed - I didnt expect one at any point.

Hospitals ARE NOT hotels. get it through your head. They treat people. And we dont live in the UK/Canada/France/Cuba where something might have been done differently.
who the hell expects to be treated like a human being in philly anyway. i would have expected worse

Just let me know when the right time is to tell you that Smackette is a doctor, and that she'll more than likely agree with me. But you can keep going if you'd like.

That's what we do in San Francisco.

See above. I haven't lived in DC in over 4 years and everybody on this board knows that. It just confirms what we've thought all along - YOU ARE NOT VERY SMART AND DON'T PAY THE SLIGHTEST BIT OF ATTENTION TO ANYBODY BUT YOURSELF.

Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go smell my own farts.

Hey. She's your problem.

You live in San Francisco??!?! And have for four years?!?! Then why in the hell would you post on a Washington D.C. message board? Are you serious? You've posted over 7,000 times! Don't you have any friends? Don't you have anything better to do with your life than to troll on a message board for a club that's 3,000 miles from where you live? You must have NO LIFE! What do you DO with all of your free time? Are you your wife's nurse?

Brian

P.S. No. Seriously. Why are you so obsessed with a Washington D.C. club when you live in San Francisco? I just may start posting on message boards for clubs in San Antonio, Denver, etc. You've really opened my eyes to long distance trolling. Thanks!

P.P.S. This isn't what you look like is it?:

If by "problem" you mean "ticket to early retirement" then I'll grant you that. Otherwise, it's much more like I'm her problem.

Before people like you came along this was a great place to hear about new music and get show reviews. But I'll give you a free copy of my book - "How Young Immature Brats are Ruining the Internet and Why I Blame the Parents" as soon as I finish it.
Smackie : Smackette is hot AND a doctor?!? i hate you more and more. . . and Walalce: you are in a horrible position to talk about "belonging" on this board. you hate anything more than ten years old and you do like fall out boy. GET OUT.
Of course she would. People in the doctor industry typically don't go into medicine because they want to help people. And those that do soon learn that's not what the industry is all about.

Like you don't know me when you talk about lawyers, you don't know Smackette. We talked just last night about putting off kids a few extra years so we could move to Africa where she can participate in Médecins Sans Frontières (apparently they're short on pediatricians). The decision will be made when she gets back from The Dominican Republic in April, where she'll be helping Haitian refugees that the Domincan Government has forbidden its own doctors to treat - children included, if you could believe that.

But as always, I love your blanket statements.

Kind of like people don't go work for the government because they believe in public service?
My ever-decreasing blindness could be the best thing to happen to this thread in a long, long time.

Miss P is, like, one venerial disease from Jimmy Chamberlin away from this surpassing Just Announced in post count.

has anyone asked Billy what he thinks about the state of america's health care?
The thread that refuses to die….

Revenge would be a bitch. Suck it, Bolly.
Actually it appears Jimmy is having chest pains.
Hey, Jules. Did you know that it seems like Best Buy has come out with another, different, exclusive version of "Zeitgeist?" Maybe they are doing it to tie in with their exclusive Best Buy Guitar Hero III face plates.

No snide comments from me. I know you're a big fan of the Smashing Pumpkins and don't know if you knew they had a new one.

Brian

P.S. Or maybe not. Looking at the ad again, it may just be the same one they released when it came out. I didn't think it had a grey cover.
Yeah, I was aware. It has 3 bonus tracks and a making-of DVD with the 2 music videos. I haven't gotten it yet.
