I kind of don't feel bad if they didn't - they really weren't trying very hard. Between their plan to beg the band for tickets when they showed up and then not knowing who was in the band (to Jeff: "Hey, are you with Smashing Pumpkins") and never walking to the back of the line to ask if anyone had an extra, they really didn't seem to know how to pull off the "get a ticket at the door" thing.

Yea, I wanted to help them out, plus it was fun messing with tickets.com and asking them about Pat Benetar and the likes…but that said, I got the feeling they just wanted in so they could say they were there. That incident with Jeff just killed it for me.

My favorite moment is when he picks up one of the anti-SP protest signs and looks at the Pumpkins "rally" people and I throw my sign down in disgust and glare at him and he busts out laughing.

had a blast. billy has some beautiful guitars, that custom schecter he started the show with was shweet. really enjoyed the acoustic set. still trying to decide if bnyce or miss p is my new fav boardie. need to run, more later (probably for the best, maybe the mental fog will have cleared by then).

i was afraid this would happen… it was definitely a blast meeting you too julian. in fact, as bnyce pointed out, the dork factor was really low - i could also see myself hanging with y'all. but i'll wear older pants next time, joe left a funny stain on one leg…

miss p is a total cutie and a sweetie. she's sassy and likes good music. and she's single - someone should get on that. i'd def be asking her out if i was single (and she'd def be telling me to dream on, but luckily i can now avoid that embarrassment :) )

Well, as we said last night, the mere fact a female actually decided to come to a boardie meetup probably makes you the winner by default…

i actually ended up throwing someone who needed a ticket my +1 and he turned out to be great. super nice guy who had seen them in ashville and simply didn't get through to get tickets this weekend.

he happened to be at the right place at the right time and when my moment came to grab wristbands and move into the 200 or less queue, i sure as hell wasn't moving to the back of the line. the chick that i didn't know that was a friend of a friend and i had never met was running an hour late… so she got the shaft and the aaron the fan ended up with my ticket. he was super grateful and repaid me in beer and the face value of the ticket. everytime they handed something out he made sure i had it too and was overall a class act and very grateful. i was glad i could help out a fan.

as for the girl who lost out on being my plus one… she sucked. she got in with my friend and stood around like pissy pants and then made me drive her to georgetown after the show. because of her shenanigans i didn't make it home till nearly 3. and then, when she got out of the car she said "well, thanks for whatever."

and this is why i hate girls.
