THE VENUE
Last year?s setting, The Seaholm Powerplant was an epic setting for APF 2011, and it?s hard to top it. Seaholm is being redeveloped, so starting in the summer we began to look for a new home for Austin Psych Fest 2012. Our search brought us all over the Austin area,  to beautiful ranches outside of town, to empty parking lots downtown, to warehouses on the East Side to established venues in Austin.

After seeing the new Emo?s East & Beauty Ballroom at The Black Angels / Wooden Shjips / Ume show on New Year?s Eve, we knew that we had found the perfect fit for APF 2012. The layout, facilities and sound are all amazing, and anyone who has been to the original locations of either club will be impressed ? the difference is readily apparent.

We look forward to seeing you all in April.

^ In my opinion, the Austin Psych Fest is the best of all of the festivals with the exception maybe of Benicassim. Personally, I still think that I would prefer the APF once total lineup is taken into consideration.
That does look really great.

They always have a great and full selection of bands much more suited to my personal tastes.

I'm just surprised that Dead Skeletons isn't on the bill considering how much all the Psych/Shoegaze people are loving them and their connection with BJM. Maybe they will add them later. Could be a travel issue being that they are from Iceland. There's also a ton of good French and Russian Psych bands who would fit beautifully but probably have too many money and travel details getting in the way. Would love to see Cotton Club and Aerofall, among many, many others. Then again, it's not like I'll be able to make it. Would just hope those bands tour this way.
Im pretty sure I am going to grab a weekend pass and plane ticket, and then hope maybe Preston or someone will let me crash on their couch at night! Definitely a sick line up and from what i have heard, a great experience.

Preston is a really cool guy. We've had a lot of good personal conversations where we agree on so much. Don't know about his living situation so don't have a clue if he could help you out or not. Kind of surprised that one of his bands isn't on the bill.

I personally never saw an issue with keeping all show announcements regardless of location to a single thread.

Radio City is larger than DAR.

No clue about Warfield, but google is your friend.
