Just Announced: The Non-Mid-Atlantic & Non-NYC Edition

God damn!

Slowdive next?!!!!!!!!!!????????????

Let's keep the shoegaze reunion trend going!
Maybe a Curve tour with SPC ECO opening for them?

The guys putting this show on are long time friends of mine. Several years ago, I tried to persuade one of them to get a Slowdive reunion in the works. After all, he was able get House Of Love back together. Only shame was that it was a one off thing. Anyway, even though he got Rachel Goswell booked for their Christmas show, at my urging (lot of good it did me 3,000 miles away!), along with Christian Savil DJing for that night, and often gets Simon Scott for gigs, he explained to me why Slowdive just wasn't going to happen. Then again, at the time, we all fully thought that MBV wasn't ever going to happen either. Biggest stumbling block is Neal. Also, shakey is that Rachel now has lost part of her hearing due to a very bad middle ear infection about 2 years ago.

With that said, Moose just rereleased XYZ on Cherry Red Records. Maybe, just maybe, they might think about reuniting. (Not holding my breath though.)

Would love for Blind Mr. Jones to reunite. Cherry Red just released a compilation of their complete works (on my ever growing wish list, none of which I can afford at the moment). Yet another, would be nice.

Curve doesn't look too hopeful but would absoluetely love for SPC-ECO to tour, ideally with Joey but Dean's son Harry taking his place would do. Ideally, both Joey and Harry.

Wouldn't surprise me in the least if Ride board the next reuniting train. All we need is for the Gallager brothers to keep on feuding. One can only hope and pray!  ;D

01-17 Kortrijk, Belgium - De Kreun
completely serious, non-flippant question: are panda bear solo shows a rare occurrence?  i'm trying to figure out why you'd post this - it's not as if we have a strong german and belgian presence on this bboard…
Yes, they are a rare occurrence, but that has nothing to do with this. Easily 90% of the shows posted on here have not one single boardie attend them. People act like we have some god-given responsibility to meta-collect show listings we'll never go to.
yeah oh hey guys U2 are playing in like utah or nova scotia or something along those lines
Jaguar, correct me if I'm wrong but I thought the premise of  this thread was "it'd be cool if I could attend this." And yes, Panda Bear solo gigs are extremely rare.
As prompted by Az over in some other thread:

It's whatever you want it to be. This is a pretty big forum and some of the members do a bit of traveling. Also, there are those events that are either rare occurances or just special to someone. Didn't want to cloud up the regular 'Just Announced' thread since we have some pains in the ass who get a little too touchy about anything posted in there outside of the beltway. (You know, those 'natural' DC shows.  :D ::) ) NYC has it's own and well deserved on this forum. Figured we needed one that didn't fit any of the the other specific JA threads. So, here you have it.
Paging Dr. Doom….

I know you'll probably be back home by then but in case you are still around, I very, very highly recommend this festival. This is a great festival held in a small club in, you guessed it!… Bandung. (See, I told you that I knew more there. LOL.) Get in touch with me if you think you'll make it.  ;)

Anyone thinking about Primavera should reconsider:
"Current 93: 28 & 29 May 2010! Two spectacular shows in London to celebrate David?s birthday as well as 25 years of Current 93

C93 PLAY LONDON ON FRIDAY 28 MAY AND SATURDAY 29 MAY, 2010. We have just received confirmation of two special and spectacular events by Current 93 and friends to celebrate 25 years of C93 and David Tibet?s 50th birthday. More information will be announced, with further details, in the next update. There will be also be a Hallucinatory Mountain Storm of new items whose release date will be on 28 May, the first day of the show."

I wonder if the NYC shows are still happening. One would think they would have been mentioned in that update if so.

don't think we have any angelinos on the list, we do however have one SF'er.

i wonder how high the minimum bid will go.

if they do something like this in NYC, i'm on the next train there.  c'mon, RH, there are plenty of rich people in NYC who would pay big buck for this too!
