so tempting… even have a place I could stay at in Austin…
Same.
Didn't see the new Rocklahoma lineup on here, so here you go. When I first it. I thought it was one of those fake Coachella posters, but alas, it's legit.

This is a great festival. We went there on our honeymoon the year Thurston Moore curated. It is mighty tempting this year.
I think Big Ears in Knoxville takes the lineup prize so far in 2014 though.
Mid-week Boston Road-trip anyone? http://www.songkick.com/concerts/19339734-bevis-frond-at-tt-the-bears

I drove to shows from time to time in Victoriaville, which was 2 hours away from home. Some of the best shows I've seen were there (Godspeed You Black Emperor in 1999, Set Fire to Flames). However, it is somewhat expensive to buy single tickets (3 shows in one evening will be ~100$), and the festival boss is not so friendly (Taping is not allowed, even for bands who want to have a copy of their own show!). In my opinion the "rock" (non-avant garde) part of the festival is weak this year, and many of the big names have already played there many times.
Any of you nuts going to Lolla this year, the Lolla lottery is up on the website now. This is for the golden tickets they usually do before the regular on sale. This year they are doing it different then past years. I've got golden tickets before but this year looks to be a free for all.

Odds of winning near impossible, whatever the hell all that means below.
All Prizewinners will be chosen at the conclusion of the Sweepstakes time period based on the random selection. There is a variable probability and winning number. A random is chosen between 0 and the probability. That gives players a 1:x (x being the variable probability) chance of getting a shot at the winning number. If we aim to hand out y tickets over 4 days, that?s about z tickets a day. Multiplying z * x will give us y; the amount of tickets to give away daily. Winners will be notified no later than Monday, March 24 at 11:59 CT via e-mail.
;D

The Bluestfest is over ~15 days (so most bands can play long sets) and is able to get pretty good crowds for the small size of the city. That said, there is nothing I like in this year's lineup,
so i finally had a look at this year's lolla line-up… wow, talk about embarrassing. it's as if atomic curated this year's festival. are the organizers counting on selling tickets based only on the reputation of the festival?
