Never understood the point of that festival.  You have all these bands playing buy you can only see at most 4 a day?  Why don't they have bands playing in the daytime? 

Great question. Starting at 8:30 is just wrong. And I planned on checking out about 50. Guess it's time to reassess.

I thought they did have day time things, kind of "unofficial" shows during the day… Never went so I dont know.
(I believe that is what Joe told me… I saw the old schedules of 830 PM on and was upset that nothing happens during the day).

Also Friday and Saturday technically start at six.  (Gross Ghost and the Lollipops…)

Saturday is the most painful.

Lots of conflicts… I can see the three of us having completely different schedules! (just kidding i plan on seeing music and hanging with you two).

I asked the fest on facebook and they said:

Hopscotch Music Festival There will be numerous day parties. Those are announced in August.

It's always been like that, everything starts late Thursdays.  Sometimes the day parties can have some good shows.  I saw Future Islands and Rosebuds one year.  Unless you got VIP, you better figure what show you want to see the most and stick with that.  With VIP, you could possibly catch more as they allow you entrance faster.

A friend told me that lines were not an issue for him last year and he did not have VIP.

Im thinking we will be at the short line sets… Unless Merzbow suddenly blows up!
As for Thursday, that is our travel day, so I dont mind that there isnt music in the daytime.

Yeah, I am guessing Earl Sweatshirt will have a much longer line than Pelt or Wolf Eyes.

We will go to Wolf Eyes, leave Joe to the Pitchfork approved sets.

I think Wolf Eyes conflicts with Merzbow actually. Goddamnit.

Did they change it?   the schedule now shows Merzbow to Wolf Eyes at the same venue…
Merzbow at 1130 then Wolf Eyes at 1230

Ill probably post a schedule of what i want to see later tonight.

Also Hopscotch is still claiming that Earl Sweatshirt is on.

My bad. Expo70 conflicts with Merzbow and both conflict with Grouper.
Which sucks equally.
