The Hopscotch Music Festival will take over downtown Sept. 9-11, 2010 with 120 bands in 10 venues over three days with music ranging from rock, hip-hop, alt-country, heavy metal, dance, punk, classical, noise, drone, folk and more.

The headliners include Animal Collective?s PANDA BEAR (one of only two shows he will perform in the United States this year, the other being a headlining slot at the Pitchfork Music Festival) and BROKEN SOCIAL SCENE on Friday in Raleigh City Plaza, with Triangle favorites THE ROSEBUDS opening. On Saturday, City Plaza will be the playground for hip-hop legends, PUBLIC ENEMY, headlining and Los Angeles noise-punk trio NO AGE and Raleigh?s lo-fi THE LOVE LANGUAGE opening.

I went to a power pop fest in Raleigh several years ago and it's seems a cool locale for a multi venue fest….

Gorillaz are set to open up their final production rehearsals at a secret location in LA ahead of their headline performance at Coachella Festival.

G-Club competition winners will be able to attend the bands final rehearsal on Friday April 16th (approx 7pm PST).

The Rehearsal will feature many of the performers who featured on Plastic Beach including Damon Albarn, Bashy, De La Soul, Mick Jones, Kano, Gruff Rhys, Shaun Ryder, Paul Simonon and Bobby Womack. The Full Production has been designed by Jamie Hewlett.

G-Club has 40 pairs of tickets available to members. We'll be asking 2 questions and giving away 20 pairs of tickets per question to randomly selected members with the correct answer. Obviously we'd love you all to come but you won't all fit in!

Question 1 runs from 10am GMT Friday 9th of April until 9am Monday the 12th.
Question 2 runs from 10am GMT Monday 12th of April until 9am Tuesday the 13th.

Winners will be notified the following working day. Members can enter both competitions although only 1 pair of tickets in total will be available to each winner. Under 16?s must be accompanied by an Adult. Full details and terms & conditions are available on Gorillaz.com.
Anyone hear of any rumors for Voodoo Music Experience? I'm thinking of going. Has anyone gone? Is it fun? Worth the effort/time/money?

No, too far away in the Haight.  It's a good thing one of my home theater/tech support clients is now in charge of the parks system in the city.  I will be back stage for Social D, among others.

Oh, and that wine list is not to be missed.
Scrape the cobwebbs away all you area Ethereal Goths. I wouldn't mind going just to see Loveliescrushing and Makaras Pen but doubt I'll make my up. Very surpised to see that Loveliescrushing is even playing anywhere as I don't know if Scott Cortez has ever taken this project (no pun intended) live before.

Projektfest '10
Thursday-Saturday
July 29th-31st
Philadelphia

(see link for details)

With appearances by: Black Tape For A Blue Girl, Loveliescrushing, WEEP, Makaras Pen, The Twilight Garden and Unto Ashes with more TBA

Then there's Dracula's Ball with special performances by Lords of Acid and My Life With The Thrill Kill Kult

uh… wow.  y'all might want to check out that line-up.

i see a whole lotta indie/hipster types hitting vegas that weekend.
^^ you mean "aging indie rockers…"  ?

Pollard also said that they'll stick to period-appropriate music: "We'll be performing songs from the albums Propeller, Bee Thousand, Alien Lanes, and Under the Bushes Under the Stars, as well as from singles and EPs from that era."  :o :o :o :o :o :o :o
*Matador at Twenty-One: October 1st, 2nd, and 3rd
Must purchase a hotel room with a ticket. Hotel rooms are $279/room. Weekend passes are $225/each.

(not sure how many days in the hotel…..assuming it is 3 days/nights, it's a great deal for the Palms)

*courtesy of azaghal who found the link from ticketfly!
i suspect that's $279 per night… which isn't that great a rate.  you can do better using travelocity/expedia/etc.

so going to this bash is going to cost $1500 + airfare + food/drink/incidentals.  huh.  guess that's one way to control the crowds.
