I really respect the humility of Hootie and the Blowfish to acknowledge they cannot headline all four nights and need to bring in some starpower like Barenaked Ladies to close on of them.

Spoon headlines the fourth night of Wilco's SBS Covid cruise. My Morning Jacket headlines three of the nights of their One Big Holiday, not sure if there is a fourth night.

Wait. Has Hershey seceded from the mid-Atlantic?

the title of this thread has always been problematic.  once upon a time folk complained that NYC shows were clogging up JA, so a JA:NYC thread was created.  mid-atlantic shows like philly started creeping in there and the thread morphed into the "northeast shows thread".  eventually we needed another thread for shows outside the northeast, hence this "Non-Mid-Atlantic & Non-NYC" thread.  then a funny thing happened: the JA:NYC thread stopped being used, organically faded away, and "Non-Mid-Atlantic & Non-NYC" became the "anything outside of DMV" thread.  hence the current include of NYC and mid-atlantic shows here.  historians, take note.
*ahem*

Julian's America: NYC sounds like one of those rare spinoffs that would be even better than the original (a la Law and Order: SVU).
Based on the latest announcements, we may actually need a Just Announced: SVU

No, somebody mentioned the Doors, one of my all time most hated bands. I hate them so much I feel compelled to mention it. Sorry I didn't do it in a more creative manner.

This is a masterclass in WTF.

if you look at the festival as a whole, i agree. however, an alternative is that this is three separate festivals in one:
- day 1: for the bros
- day 2: hipsters hanging on despite being after their expiry date
- day 3: still-wannabe-cool dad rock

see?  3 different demographics will be 33% satisfied with this festival.
There's a weird jam band contingency there too. It does feel like 3-4 festivals smashed into one thing around a nebulous concept. Who are these people just cranking some Stone Temple Pilots or Smashing Pumpkins at the beach?

"Its a beautiful sunny day here oceanside, and now lets crank some Pisces Iscariot deep cuts!!"
More Masterclass

I'm either getting super old and am no longer with it or that's the weakest Bonnaroo in a decade++.

agreed.  there are a few acts in there i would love to catch, but overall not worth the effort of schlepping down to the heat-trap that is bonnaroo.
what is Jack attonoffs 1984?
