brandon flowers recently stated that he was over the synth-pop thing, even going as far as abandoning a half-written album of new material because he just wasn't into their old sound anymore. appears that if enough benjamins are promised he'll reconsider…

that lineup is kinda redonkulous… pretty much every punk/hardcore band still kicking is on that poster. all those acts in a single day = lots of conflicts…

some quick back-of-the-envelope calcs: i count 41 band on that bill (42 if you count the blur between the damned and joyce manor). let's round down to 40. now let's say they have 4 stages = 10 bands per stage (hello conflicts!). if they go from 1 pm to 11 pm, that's an hour per band. if we assume they can change over in 20 minutes - which would be fast - that's an average of 40 minute sets. now most punk songs are under 2 minutes, add a little banter and an occasional longer song and you might expect to hear about 15 songs per band. obviously headliners will get more time, bands at the bottom will get less. cut the number of stages down to 3 and 15 minute changeovers, and now you're looking at 11-12 songs. not sure where i was going with any of this.
