you know, i see these threads about the orioles and the nationals, and i like baseball and i got to go to a game and i felt like a kid and it was neat with hot dogs and soda pop. but, seriously . . . who is better, the nationals or the orioles?

Pretty crazy that they both finished 96-66.

You wanna talk Angels contracts?
Sure, since no one knows them better than me:
AB R H 2B 3B HR RBI SB CS BB SO AVG OBP SLG OPS WAR
A 529 56 142 28 0 9 52 0 0 29 104 .268 .309 .372 .682 3.4
C 589 77 164 30 4 7 68 16 9 36 62 .278 .321 .379 .700 3.9
Player C is a 30 year old shortstop in year 3 of a 5 year, $40m deal.
Who would you rather have - 30 year old Erick Aybar at $8.5m per season for 2 more seasons or 32 year old JJ Hardy at $13.3m per year for at least 3 more seasons?

love love Aybar…
I believe O's beat the Washington team 3 out of 4 this season.

Aybar's the guy who used to walk about the minor league clubhouse with his schlong in a hot dog roll, and then have his teammate put mustard on it and pretend to eat it, isn't he? I always thought that was a funny story.
Matusz for Ubaldo. And no Ibanez!
Still not sure why they need all three of (Parades, Johnson, Flaherty). Leave one of those guys off (Parades, imo) and put Berry on the roster for late inning PR duties.

Smart move. Anaheim was abused by their lefties (Moustakas and Hosmer) in the late innings.

Weenie Wednesday! Yes, it was him and Alberto Callaspo….
Forecast says rain at 10pm. Too bad they can't bump up game time.
its hard to beat the Kansas City Bombers…

7 HRs in 5 postseason games; 95 in 162 regular season games. They had seven homers in their final 23 regular-season games.
The Royals have scored eight runs three times this postseason. They did so twice after the All-Star break.
The Royals have homered in four straight games this postseason, a franchise record. They did not homer in consecutive games over the final 25 games of the regular season.
The Royals had one extra-inning HR in the regular season. They already have three extra-inning homers in the postseason.
Strange.
The stars do seem to be aligned in their favor.
I am over this team with my initials!!!
Hope the O's can get it done tonight.

Calling for a monsoon tonight.
great.
not looking good for the o's (using bullshit statistics) but i hope they turn it around. going to be tough.
sidenote, i'm seeing all these oriole haters come out of the woodwork lately…i suspect most of them are yankee fans…i find it really odd, i just don't see how you could hate the orioles

the only "likable" team left for casual MLB fans to root for his KC. and sometimes it's just easirer to pick a team to "hate", instead.
but i can't stand the o's, and my dislike stems from being a red sox fan. you're not going to get much love from AL east fans.
