Jimmy Paredes has been more than impressive this spring, but where are you going to put him?

This franchise never ceases to amaze me.  I take back my assessment that Johnson might not beat out Balfour next season.  Balfour almost certainly has a closer season for the record books next year.

Guess who got DFA'd this past weekend

Johnson is not too far behind either -  in his last two appearances he's given up four runs, six hits, and two home runs.

At least Balfour can say he missed most of the spring because of his dads passing, but still, if Tampa is willing to eat $7m, that says A LOT.
Tomorrow's game will be played at 2PM and will be closed to the public.
so weird
Can someone tell me if that's ever happened before?
The Expos played most games in an empty stadium for a few years.

Happens in international soccer all the time, but no, it's never been done intentionally in baseball.
Baltimored.
The game this afternoon is available for free on mlb.com

Best RatBastard post ever. Fuck soccer.
3:49 p.m.

The Orioles just proceeded with another baseball tradition: announcing the attendance. For the first time in major league history it went, "Today's official paid attendance is zero."
Meanwhile, the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra played a free concert out in the open.
Gotta say I was totally wrong about Cruz.  The HRs keep coming, even in Seattle.

Shouldn't spend too much time in RF however.

Me too, but he didn't sign a one year deal with Seattle like he did in Baltimore.

I think most people expected a decent season out him this year (though right now he's better than I expected), and maybe even next year.  Who has the last laugh in 2017-18 if Seattle doesn't make the playoffs in 2015 or 2016?
