Orioles....part 2?

Unless Adam Jones takes a serious home town discount to stay in Baltimore this offseason, he just totally screwed the team over.

He's earned the right to go where he wants to go.  I've got no problem with that.
Gausman and Darren O'Day to the Braves….for IF Jean Carlos Encarnacion, catcher Brett Cumberland, RHP Evan Phillips, and LHP Bruce Zimmermann. There’s $2.5MM of international bonus money coming as well.

Schoop close to the Brewers…. for Jonathan Villar, minor league SS Jean Carmona and RHP prospect Luis Ortiz.  If true, that's a good haul.
They are still having Gausman's bobblehead night.
Braves 10 Brewers 1

Gausman gets the W, going 8, giving up 1 earned on 6 hits while striking out 8 and walking only one.

Markakis goes 2-for-3 with 3 runs scored and 3 RBI.

-sigh-
I like Markakis…should have kept him and gotten rid of Davis
Showalter to be let go at the end of the season.  Because he's the problem [eyeroll]
Nats should pick him up but they won’t preferring to keep their wonderful manager on the cheap

I love Showalter

Poor Buck.

Another reason to break up with the Orioles after all these years.
Great article in The Athletic about the O's and stats (probably behind a pay wall for non-subscribers).

I'll sum it up for you with the conclusion paragraph:

This much is not in dispute: Machado rates better defensively with the Dodgers than he did with the Orioles, and the pitchers the Orioles parted with also performed better for their new clubs.

Whoever you believe, the Orioles had a problem.
Analytics here we come!

Parker Bridwell.  Talk to me…..

Will probably end up being the next Jake Arrieta

I tip my hat….

"Parker Bridwell, a cash purchase from the Baltimore Orioles in April, is now 7-1 with a 2.88 ERA in 11 starts after a win Sunday. Let that sink in: The Orioles didn't want this guy."

Now a Yankee after the Angels DFA'd him.  Sorry about that O's fans…
Didn't know Ricky Martin could play short.  Nice pickup, Elias.

Yankees put him on Waivers and the Angels welcomed him back with open arms.  I can't make this stuff up.
Zach Britton resigned with the Yankees. 3 year, $40m deal.
Brooks was great but this guy changed everything.  Sad to hear he's not well.

The Orioles Finally, Mercifully Shelved Chris Davis

It appears the Orioles will not, in fact, let Chris Davis have the worst season in baseball history.

Oh boy, 0-47.  What are they going to do this year?
What does it say about me that I felt the need to tune in for the 46th and 47th at-bats?

The orioles paid him to break records.

You weren't alone.  His AB's are must see TV at this point.

I enjoyed that.
Besides watching records being broken, I'm actually excited about watching..gasp…bunting, speed on the bases, and hustle from the rest of the team.
