Orioles....part 2?

One of those weird stats I'll never understand as statistically,  he's having a horrible season:

ELIAS: When J.J. Hardy has played in games this season, the Orioles are 53-44. When he's been out of the lineup: 15-29.

What's their record when Ryan Flaherty starts vs not-starts?
Well at least Friday's game was super exciting!
I can't beiieve Adam Loewen is back in the Major Leagues. As a pitcher, again.
That's so crazy!

Last night was fun, but I'm so tired today.
Wow.  Weiters accepted his Qualifying Offer - $15+million for one year.

Isn't he the 1st to do so?  Not sure what his market was.  He did only play 75 games last year.  He needs to prove he's healthy before he gets a Long term deal I think.

Oh, and it's 'i' before 'e'.   ;D

Ah, Rasmus was #1.

Really?  You had a better plan I guess.

With limited cash available and numerous holes to fill, filling the catcher position with an injury prone catcher wouldn't have been my first choice.

It's a big number but it's only one year.  I don't think the other options at that position were very strong.  And I'm not totally sold on the 'limited cash' angle.  Wieters will get the money that won't go to the Nats.  Plus they still have $5M of the $20M to spend.

Duquette:

"I don't think it impacts our desire or our ability to re-sign Chris Davis," said Duquette, who's in New York to watch third baseman Manny Machado receive his Gold Glove.
"I will say this, It's the shortest and quickest negotiation I've ever had with Matt's agent."

That's a funny quote.  Boras is a dick.  He makes his clients a ton of money.  But he's still a dick.

That's a gem of a quote.

Bowden listed Anaheim as his likely destination and I immediately thought "No way they negotiate with Bora."
Trumbo for Clevenger

This means 2 things:

DiPoto REALLY hates Trumbo.

And the Orioles are giving up on Davis.

It's a good deal for the O's though - he's an upgrade to Clevenger and he should so well in the shoebox that is Camden.  His defense will frustrate you as will his inability to take a walk, but he can hit for power and knock guys in.
Always good to have a backup plan.  Giving up Clevenger isn't that big of a deal.  Plus reports are the O's will be getting another player.  That really validates your first point.
I'm not ready to count out davis yet.
Good lord, go get Pedro Alvarez right now!
Looks like my t-shirt can be worn for a few more years…
