Well as I recall crime did spike up after the pandemic but last year things improved. If you talked to DC people about a year ago there was a feeling DC had gone to hell.

I really think the way to fight Trump is not to seek to discredit every single thing he says. Sometimes the guy is actually right! If we just instinctively say every thing he says is wrong then it just discredits us when we say something he says is wrong and it is…

Kind of reminds me of liberals reacting to Reagan. Not everything he said or did was wrong.

well, it was more the timing of it
walkie was saying the anthem isn't safe for humans
and hours later, Trump decrees he's going to make dc safe again

While I'm not going to deny crime was happening, DC is nothing like what it was in the late 70s-early 90s…when it really was not safe and crime/murder were really high

we are really not even close to that level.  Again, horrible crimes are still happening


but I do think trump will deliver this by having a draconian 'fed force' rounding up suspicious characters and haling them away to never be seen again is my fear

his opinion of peoples civil liberties and rights is dramatically different than mine
he basicly has said…if you protest, that's anti American and you can be locked up and even avoid 'due process' because it's a 'national security' issue

I don't agree with strong man tactics on these types of things, but that is exactly what his base wants

fundamental mistake: using reality to counter or confirm anything trump says.
