I been rereading Yuval Harari’s Sapiens. Parts of it are absolutely riveting.

How did we get here? When for hundreds of thousands of years we were low on the totem pole. Nothing to distinguish us from any other species. In fact we were kind of pathetic. Apparently our specialty for thousands of years may have been hiding and waiting til all the other species hunting had their fill and left and then running in and cracking leftover broken bones and eating the marrow. It’s just so sad. These ads are not for those in this country illegally but for his base. To show them they are cracking down on dem illegals. They appeal to the worst in our humanity. They will lead to more violence against those that are “different “ from “us”…..Like that landlord that stabbed a young boy to death because he was a Palestinian.

My wife and I have been rewatching the 7th season of 30 Rock lately, which was during the Obama / Romney election.  I was drifting off during one the other week, and this commercial came on during the break.  I swear, it took me about ten seconds to realize this wasn't some absurd bit.
