It goes back to the lower courts

It instructs the lower courts to decide exactly what deportation procedures *would* comply with the Constitution.

the Venezuelan migrants rotting in an El Salvadorian death camp will be relieved to learn of this development!

what an absolute dick to do that on camera
with all the news lately about this, surprised the SA leader wasn't expecting this
he definitely handled it better than Zelensky

unfortunately Trump has created an environment that these leaders have to come kiss the ring or risk some retaliatory action
what an embarrassment

because you are going to be part of workforce in the US manufacturing iphones?  I think there is an age and height limit for that kind of work

fuck musk for attempting a poorly thought out plan and implemented so recklessly
in the end will have devastated 100s of thousands of Americans (and people worldwide)
not all of them were liberal (although the vast majority were)
all for the lolz
I had written a post yesterday about this meme coin stuff, but decided to not post it
it's insane how much money has changed hands in this crypto currency play the trumps have gotten involved in

their direct take-home from crypto activities in the last year sits at roughly $700 million–$800 million.

to make it worse is it's untraceable and a high percent coming from foreign 'investors'

that was always the third rail "we can't have foreigners impacting our US elections"

welp guess we don't care about that any more

that last line in that NYT thing you just posted is really something the Dems need to be shouting from the mountain tops and people need to be calling their represenatives about

Mr. Wertheimer said the accumulation of so many conflicts puts Mr. Trump on the all-time list of presidential graft. “He’s got the first 10 places on that,” he said. “He’s in the hall of fame of ripping off the presidency for personal gain.”

but you know what will happen, we will be accused of TDS

Jezus…just learned about The “Executive Branch” club! (old news from april…you know less than a month ago)
https://www.politico.com/news/2025/04/26/donald-trump-washington-club-00311720
he up-front buy-in remains at $500,000, with annual dues thereafter. (dude, 1/2 bil isn't enough, you still gotta pay in 2026)

Jules did you get your invite?
Official launch timeline set for June 2025. After months of planning and an April announcement, the club’s doors are slated to open next month in Georgetown. A preview party is planned to coincide with White House Correspondents’ Dinner weekend, offering the first in-person glimpse of the interior design (modeled on Aman New York’s minimalist luxury) and networking spaces
I think it’s an interesting question: why don’t more people care that the president is very corrupt? I mean like the article says when Hillary made a relative pittance of money on some futures it was practically the end of the world. Have we changed or did we not care then either but the media acted as if we did?

Unlike the article I think it partly reflects changing moral values. Nowadays people accept things that 35 years ago we didn’t….

On the other hand if a democrat president was doing the things Trump was doing pretty sure the reaction would be different.

It’s all very confusing right now.

this is key as not only are the voters looking the other way, the entire GOP is like 'business as usual' 'gotta break a few eggs to make and omelet'  'let them eat cake' (that last one was just reflexive)

they are giving up so much power to the Executive and lots of them will lose their jobs because of it (well I can dream can't i)
Well if the voters - the people- don’t care why would GOP. The question is why don’t the people care? Don’t focus on the “evil GOP”; that’s pointless.
I honestly believe that a wide swath of "the voters" just assume everything is a scam and are either looking for their own grift or are resigned to say fuck it let it burn around them. If society feels like a lie and a fool's game and you're wearing the cap, would you have the wherewithal to care about the government? It would just be a more confirmation of the garbage and indecency that you see locally or in the culture broadly. People are becoming too worn out, too mean or too busy surviving to care.

^I really struggle with what you say - with accepting it- even though I tend to think it and have articulated it myself.  It just seems like the social contract has broken down in America.

I think there are a lot of good and decent people in this country. But I sure see a lot of hateful people around. Bad people. And they are louder lately and it makes you wonder just how many are there?

I think environment contributes to shaping people into hateful and selfish people. Times are hard and getting harder.

The problem  and concern is when it becomes entrenched as a part of the culture it gets very hard to change.

People always talk about the rat race but America right now feels more like a jungle out there. Lately it seems to me that religion has increasingly been replaced by $. Even the fake Christians’ prosperity churches are about $.
I mean something falls apart when it’s all about $$$  and nothing else seemingly matters. Lotteries, sports gambling, crypto

“How much have you got??”

To think the mere act of lending $ (w/interest) was long considered a sin shows how “far” we’ve come.

Or that less than 100 years ago income tax was 90%.

hmm, I'd always thought it was only for a brief time during Ike

I was shocked to learn how long it lasted
The top marginal income tax rate in the United States was above 90% for a period of nearly 20 years, specifically from 1944 through 1963. In 1944, the top rate peaked at 94% on taxable income for the highest earners, and remained at or above 91% until 1964

but this is important too
while the top statutory rates were extremely high, the effective tax rates paid by the wealthy were much lower—often around 35%—due to these tax advoidance strategies

this is what I came here to post: Donald Trump pardons rapper NBA YoungBoy
Just in time for the tour
I doubt the effective tax rate is very high for the Musks, Bezoses and Zuckerbergs of the world….

The fact is before it was more of a shared burden. Just like the military.

Things that bind us together have broken.

US Court of International Trade who knew

Also

2 of 3 judges on this U.S. Court of International Trade panel were appointed by Trump and Reagan.

I’m sure dear leader couldn’t care less about that ruling, it will just provide more fodder for him to rant about, tell cargo ship loads of lies and distract from the fact he is pardoning conservative’s left and right for white collar crimes.
