I just tried to pre-order the Trump T1 Phone, the new all gold phone from the Trump Organization. The website failed, went to an error page, and then charged my credit card the wrong amount of $64.70. I have no idea whether or how I’ll receive the phone.

I received a confirmation email saying I’ll receive a confirmation when my order has been shipped, but I haven’t provided a shipping address or paid the full $499 price tag. It is the worst experience I’ve ever faced buying a consumer electronic product and I have no idea whether or how I’ll receive the phone.

talk about unserious - clearly zero testing of the ordering flow was done.  this has all the hallmarks of a bait-and-switch cash grab.  anyone expecting an actual working phone from this "offering" is either delusional or a die-hard trumper (but i repeat myself).
Saw some pretty good stickers in OCMD this weekend.  Trying to snap one of the truck with a Louder with Crowder bumper sticker, which I have to stay, is a new one.  Seen plenty of Info Wars stickers over the years, a random Russell Brand or Joe Rogan sticker, and even the odd Nikki Haley or even Ted Cruise stickers, but liking Steven Crowder enough to put his sticker on your vehicle is wild.

I'm sure Ted Cruz WISHES he was as cool as Tom Cruise, but their names aren't spelled the same.

Are you sure they weren't referencing Christian beardo singer Crowder? https://www.crowdermusic.com/
Oh man I did forget how that guy spelled his name.  Wish I forgot everything else about him too
Ok, I think it's great that our POTUS now can say Fuck

"I've got to get Israel to calm down now," Trump said. Iran and Israel had been fighting "so long and so hard that they don't know what the fuck they're doing."
this completely normal, 100% non-fascist story has been making the rounds today:

I mean, that is a pretty killer pic of JD

So I do think there is likely a little more to the story, but I don't know

U.S. immigration held him for questioning on serious accusations—drug trafficking, terrorism, right‑wing extremism—even though he says it was baseless

but this is the part that really got me going tho…
Authorities required he unlock his phone under threat of a $5,000 fine or imprisonment

In somewhat good news they think 'right-wing extremism' is an issue for investigating someone
Yikes
The U.S. embassy now wants every visa applicant to list all social media usernames from the past 5 years — and make their profiles public.

streisand effect: way more people have now seen the offensive pic, thanks to endless reposting in the media, then if they had just let him go.

definitely
- the threat of the $5,000 fine and/or 5 years: CPB cannot impose such punishments.  they can only temporarily detain while investigating and refuse entry.  the fine & prison threats were lies, but i guess they're allowed doing that now?
- they found a picture of a wooden pipe he build himself for a school project, which CPB claimed was drug paraphernalia
- they took a blood sample from him, which i personally think is really really problematic
- somewhere along the line this dude admitted to drug use, and that's ultimately what CPB claimed was the reason for detaining him and shipping him back home.  unless this dude was acting high/erratic at the time (which no one has reported), drug use is a very uncommon reason to deny entry.  IMO smacks of an excuse.

post-facto justification
Yeah the fine or prison thing if he didn't open his phone was nuts and seems like illegal
that is kinda crazy

He did admit to drug use (pot…which is legal in more than 1/2 the states here?) so that kinda screwed him to open the option to say 'he is a drug addict'

I didn't know about the blood sample…that also seems insane for a visa

I'm just wondering why this one seemingly harmless norwegian was chosen

I have to imagine everyone who is in the tourism industry is like WTF…you just screwed us over nothing

It’s a dictatorship. They start with foreigners….get you used to the insane….then it will be us.

Any American traveling internationally ought to be very careful….when trying to get back in.
I may or may not have deleted a bunch of apps from my phone recently and logged out a forum.

Trump Organization announces mobile plan, $499 smartphone
it will sell a “T1” smartphone, which appears to feature a gold-colored metal case etched with an American flag.

oh supposedly 100% manufactured in the US (for $499 retail…I doubt it)

'Made in the USA' wording vanishes from Trump Mobile's smartphone listing

500,000 Haitians legally here in the us
https://www.politico.com/news/2025/06/28/tps-haiti-terminated-trump-00431124

the irony
But while DHS said Haiti is “safe for Haitian citizens to return home,” the country still remains at a “level four” designation by the State Department, which has advised Americans not to travel there due to risk of “kidnapping, crime, civil unrest, and limited health care.”
Very cruel. This government is an abomination to humanity.
seems to be the desired outcome: cruelty and headlines are a feature, not a bug

the commentary has been "so I guess it was never really about coming in the legal way either"
and it's really not

It is an interesting subset of immigration they are focusing on and the numbers have been way higher than I expected

it's so cruel
we go from  "we the USA are are going to a give a mitzvah to thousands (or 100s of thousands) of people who just lived through something horrible, the prospect of a new life and their family with prosper for generations"
to
Yeah, we were nice then, but we've decided that the decisions made by some commie libtards needs to be overturned and sorry guys, but ya gotta go back to what ever disaster you left because we are now going back on our word that we would help you and your families

zero of these people crossed the border illegally, the US invited them and said make this your home
