A fan of the world-conquering boy band, One Direction, reportedly killed her pet chihuahua after the band didn't respond to her on Twitter. The woman posted a photo of a chihuahua being choked, demanding the members of One Direction to "FOLLOW ME OR I'LL BREAK MY DOG'S NECK." After a couple weeks with no response, she posted a photo of her with a seemingly dead dog and the caption, "I LOVE YOU PLEASE FOLLOW ME MY DOG JUST DIED." This is obviously incredibly disturbing– but, fortunately, it's starting to look like a hoax. The woman has also posted similar tweets, with fairly absurd pictures, threatening to kill her mom and blend her cat if One Direction doesn't follow her. Regardless of the story's truth, angry 1D fans have started a petition to imprison her. What a world we live in. (via The Daily Mail. Their pictures are a little NSFW and also just fucked up.)

"Prolific" isn't adequate to describe Robert Pollard. Hot off the heels of the very-good Honey Locust Honky Tonk, he's pulled a Robert Pollard and announced six forthcoming releases with his various projects, all slated for the next few months. There'll be two solo 7"s, a solo LP, a couple Circus Devils LPs, and, finally, another new Guided By Voices LP. Although listening to every Pollard release became an impossible (and largely unnecessary) task over a decade ago, everything he touches still manages to turn at least partially to gold. I suppose we'll have to keep using "prolific" until the ultra-prolific Pollard branches out into writing doctrines on semantics. Listen to one of the 7"s via Stereogum. Details about the new releases are after the jump.
