It's futile to discuss reforming Food Stamps without talking about the other part of the Farm Bill - farm subsidies.  They are inextricably linked.

There will be no real reform in America until they are separated legislatively. And if you think Government is at a standstill now, watch the separation of Food Stamps and Farm Subsidies play out and see what grinding to a halt really means.

Farmers want food stamps.  It allows poor people to buy their goods.  It is a Farm Subsidy.  I don't know why you think it needs to be removed or why you think Food Stamp reform is needed.

They really should drug test the farmers before giving them subsidies. Those tractors can be dangerous when you're loopy on goof balls.
So who is essential and who is getting tomorrow off?
Does no one work for the federal government on here?

James Ford..pretty sure he's inessential as he spends his time on the 930 Forum…

I guess he'll be shutting down his board activities until the government starts paying him again….
Not everyone who works for the government is supposed to be broadcasting it to the far reaches of the internet.

Oh ok.  Anyway what is the hold-up with this?  The house pubs add a bunch of issues to their bill that they know the Senate and President won't accept so they can shut-down the government to look good to the tea party nut jobs?  I mean eventually they will have to do their jobs, right?
msnbc . . . it is the republicans fault!

fox news . . . it is the democrats fault!

cnn . . . what do we do to fix this?

msnbc . . . its still the republicans fault!

fox news . . . its still the democrats fault!
The tea party and all the idiots who voted these people into office can all load themselves up into a van and drive to a coast, and get on a boat, and go to a little island and go live there where they won't have to deal with big government and  can all complain about how they hate Obama and big government (but don't take away my Medicare).

As a green party member I can be pretty impartial on this one and I would say it is 100 percent the Republicans in the house's fault.
I'm just gonna stick this here for now.  For future reference.

Those commenting about the Health Care Exchanges having website issues, have clearly not tried to buy Beastie Boy tickets for a 930 show.
Or tried to register for the marine corps marathon.

The bitching about Incubus – several years after their peak popularity – was also particularly bad, iirc.

They don't give you those for free for being a moderator?
I'm pretty sure the Beastie Boys are currently hiring, so there's a potential Plan B.
people on the forum are far more interesting than people in real life . . . myself included, sometimes.  i do enjoy that fact.
