I won't give Zach Braff one dime

Zach Braff is trying to raise money on Kickstarter to fund a movie he wants to make. Zach Braff is a good actor and a fine filmmaker. GARDEN STATE was a terrific movie. But I wouldn?t give him a dime.

Why?

Because it defeats the whole purpose of Kickstarter.

The idea ? and it?s a great one ? is that Kickstarter allows filmmakers who otherwise would have NO access to Hollywood and NO access to serious investors to scrounge up enough money to make their movies. Zach Braff has contacts. Zach Braff has a name. Zach Braff has a track record. Zach Braff has residuals.  He can get in a room with money people. He is represented by a major taent agency. But the poor schmoe in Mobile, Alabama or Walla Walla, Washington has none of those advantages.

That is as stupid an article as one can get. If Zac Braff could get money to make the movie he wants he wouldn't be going to Kickstarter.  Great if he can raise money to make a movie.  And Kickstarter gives you something in return for your money.  So it isn't like it is just a give away.  People are so stupid.  I wonder why some of them even can manage to survive in life.
obviously . . . he doesnt have the talent to make another film.  this has been going on for decades in the world of film.  and i dont remember anybody needing kickstarter before.  real simple:  if you are good you can continue, if you are not, then you beg for money online.

Garden State was an awesome movie.  You are begging for money whether you get it online, from investors, or a studio.  If you get it online then you have total control.  Of course you still need someone to distribute your movie.
Levi's Stadium?  Well at least it's better than The Lube.

Levi's has a rich history in San Francisco, so it's been fairly well received.  I'm shocked that they didn't get a tech company though, seeing as how they're no longer in SF proper and right at the gates of Silicon Valley.  My money was on Cisco.

I'm sure Levi's is hoping for the story of the original 49'ers wearing Levi's to be told over and over…

Miley Cyrus?  Maxim, seriously.
Is she even old enough to be considered a "woman"?

#69 was my favorite.  Well, it always it, but especially this time.
i think the better question is . . . maxim, seriously?!  sounds to me like a magazine desperate for anybody to talk about them again.  and it worked.  fuck glossy pages filled with stupid ads with girls with big tits selling shit i never pay retail for anyway.
To everyone excited about Eric Avery joining nine inch nails:
its with very mixed emotions i tell you all that im pulling out of NIN. i know. its been a tough call and i don't know if its the right one. but i really want to focus on my musical life here in la, on film work in particular. as the tour dates kept growing? i just got overwhelmed. i just got home from a year of heavy travel with garbage, the idea of leaving town for another year and a half, and with all the intensity that nails demands? fortunately my friend Trent understands all this and appreciated my pulling the plug now instead of deep into 2013 and 14. go get em gentlemen.
He's a great bass player but it always seems like he's quitting something or refusing something or disappointing someone.

He's like an American Reni.

Avery replaced by Robin Finck, AKA the musician who has played the most with NIN live.  makes sense, if a somewhat unexciting choice.  i believe this is the first time he'll be playing bass, he's always played guitar (and occasional keys).
Robin was always the most entertaining person on stage the last two times I saw them.
yeah . . . but one thing is not like the other.  who the hell, has heard of oxbow?
The Orb are not exactly a household name, either.

i know this about "them" in which i mean they seem to be a band that always brings such a diverse love or hatred aura around them . . . but this might be one of the best articles i read from pitchfork on any band, especially this band, which is a band they hate normally.
