I do.  If I don't get the mp3s I go without them.  Sometimes I forgo the vinyl and get the CD used for cheap and make my own.

Yeah, I wasn't making the case that I was "entitled" to the MP3s, legally. I was just saying it was good business. Look, let me give you an example: Waxahatchee was selling LPs for $12 and CDs for $9. There was no download codes. I'm predisposed to buy the vinyl and give you the extra $3, but if I buy the lesser option, I can have both a physical copy and the MP3s I rip. (I, like most people, do not have the technology to rip vinyl records directly.)

I understand that vinyl costs more but I still am willing to wager bands make more selling me a vinyl at a higher price over a CD. You incentive me, a consumer who doesn't steal music, by giving me a negligible cost extra item. It just seems like a win-win.

That said, I am not the intellectual property owner of any music and therefore my business ideas are quite irrelevant.
