other times, they're smackie.  do you really want to risk it?

http://www.amazon.com/mobile-apps/b?ie=UTF8&node=2350149011&m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&tag=at055-20 - today's is kinda lame, check back tomorrow for a new offering.

Yes, Kosmo and I were talking about it back in March.  Back then I wasn't sold on it, but now I TOTALLY am.  I have well over 60 free apps from them…

What you really need is this the Amazon App Store Reminder.  Seems dumb to pay for something that is free, BUT at 7AM every morning I get a notification that tells me what the Free App of the day is with a link to DL it.  Pays for itself in no time….

This is the next Google phone, deets next week:

Google moved their event to the end of October.  No reason given other than 'now is not the right time to release a new product' leading to speculation that it was out of respect to Jobs.
oh yeah?  and what about the living?  some of us have NEEDS, dammit.  my decision of which new phone to get can't wait forever, ya know.

Believe me, no one is more upset about this than me. I took a moderately attractive girl who works for Google to dinner last night just to get details on this bad boy.

Truthfully, instead of an announcement next week that it will be available on Oct 27, the announcement will be available now (on the Verizon network).
verizon only?

For one to three months, it seems. Google has a history of this, giving a US carrier a brief exclusive before making it available to multiple carriers.

All speculation at this point, of course, but I'm putting it at 75% certain that Verizon will have it for the month of November by itself, 50% certain for December as well.

T-Mobile in January and maybe at&t too. Sprint sometime in the spring…

$112.58

Good time to buy?

hope you bought, 'cause looks like this ship just might be turning around:

Netflix abandons plan for Qwikster DVD service

"Basically, these guys are desperate, and this confirms it," said Tony Wible, analyst at Janney Capital Markets. "While this move doesn't solve the company's long-term issues, in the interim, at least it can try to accelerate some positive catalysts for customers and its stock price."

Shares of Netflix (NFLX) rose 7% following the news.

I did, but not for any short term gain.  They are a complete disaster right now.  I've dated women who are more stable than Netflix right now.

I guess this means the Amazon merger is off….
laymen don't understand anyway . . . so does it matter?

Wait a minute!  Weren't you married?  Wasn't there a "Smack-ette" at some point?  Who am I thinking of?  I'm SO confused.

This was true when I was married or in a relationship.  Right now I'd hide your daughters…

I knew someone had an -ette they referred to.  Sweetcellette didn't sound right.

Figured this was as good a place to ask as any…

We're in the final stages of booting cable permanently, especially since most of our TVs are either connected to devices for streaming (Wii, Xbox) and have pretty easy connects for HDMI to stream anything else from our laptop.

We do have one last TV, though, that doesn't have any easy hook-up.  Are there any devices out there that can be hooked to a TV that give basic web browsing capabilities?  I'm not even sure where to look.

I can't justify having another laptop JUST for that purpose (especially since it's our least watched TV) or another gaming unit.  I'd scrap it all together, but this is the TV we use in the rare cases that we let the kid watch PBS or whatever.

Any ideas?

What are the hookups on the back?  Is there HDMI or am I looking for a Composite only device?
