Things Smackie Thinks You Need to Know...

i'm pretty sure smackie will want to know these factoids: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QOFTQpNhsWE
I think the thing I'm most disappointed about in my birthday is not that all the companies I frequent often knew so much about me; it's that none of the porn web sites I vist often sent me a message saying:

"We've analyzed all of the movies you've been watching over X number of years, and as a birthday treat, we're giving you access to this gem out of our vault.  Happy Birthday."
I'm a little disappointed with this thread today - I wanted some live-blogging action from the protests.  I wanted pictures of tear gas clouds and general pandemonium.
Maybe if my day didn't start at 10PM last night…

my building is taking the drastic step of closing the entrance that faces city hall- course, that entrance has a giant version of the state seal of california, so it's often used as a backdrop for PR purposes.  i imagine there will be helicopters.
So I'll see you at 5 or no?

Just kidding.  I'm not going down to Civic Center, instead I think there may be something else in store for me this evening back here.

Oh, and another problem with hipsters is that they're too frail to put the girls on their shoulders.  Last night's dance party needed that.

Third day with Cable and I'm already making my first service call.  This should be fun….
cable is to smackie as versus is to god's shoeshine
So my Touch Diamond finally bit the dust.  I knew I was asking too much of it to hold out until WinMo7….

So there's no opportunity to test WinMo phones right now with Sprint.  Google folks - should I give the Hero or the Moment a chance?
Last night I went to the Gold Club with my friend Melissa for our quarterly jaunt to a strip club and we were appalled that they raised the price of lap dances from $20 a dance to $60 for two dances.

Smackie will probably never go there again.  A 50% increase and you have to have two songs from the same girl.  This had better not become a trend.

I do think one of my new favorite songs is Birthday Sex though, at least the remix that was used last night.  Awesome.
Why are the Brazilians so nuts about Linkin Park?  Yet another Brazilian douchebag contacted me about master recordings.
you mean brazilian "taint"?
Never thought about moving to Maine until now….

Equal time: Women hold topless march in Maine
Sun Apr 4, 1:17 pm ET

PORTLAND, Maine ? About two dozen women drew a crowd of onlookers when they shed their shirts and marched downtown in Maine's largest city to promote what they call equal-opportunity public toplessness.

Organizer Ty MacDowell said the point of Saturday's march in Portland was that a topless woman out in public shouldn't attract any more attention than a man who walks around without a shirt.

The Portland Press Herald reports that by the end of the march, more than 500 people had amassed ? a mix of marchers, young men snapping photos, oglers and people just out enjoying a sunny, warm day.

It's not illegal for a woman to be topless in public in Maine, and police said there were no incidents or arrests.
This is a much better way of explaining this than I've ever done:

I didn't watch this very closely but the way his finger (the "mouse") is trailing the curser it looks like it's running on VMware without VMware tools installed….

It's an emulator…would be tough to get it to run seeing as how the iPad is not an intel chip.
XP Users, turn off your McAfee.  Quickly.  Before it's too late.

Botched McAfee update shutting down XP machines worldwide
By Nilay Patel  posted Apr 21st 2010 1:47PM

We can't officially confirm this yet, but we're hearing from all over that a bad McAfee for Windows XP update is causing computers worldwide to shut down. Apparently the update deletes the svchost.exe file, which then triggers a false-positive in McAfee itself and sets off a chain of uncontrolled restarts and loss of networking functionality. Yeah, wild – Twitter is basically going nuts, and McAfee's support site appears to be down. There's a fix out there, but it may be too late – we've heard anecdotally that an Intel facility has been affected, as well Dish Network call centers, and we're sure there are going to be more reports as the day wears on.

[Thanks to everyone who sent this in]

Smackie can confirm this as he laughs at the XP users in his office.
