Things Smackie Thinks You Need to Know...

Don't be coy, you're going to watch it.

I've never liked the Pratt's and refuse to do anything that will make them money.

But Mischa is a bad drug to me….
Last night we watched the Sesame Street NPR: Tiny Desk concert.

It had all the feels, but because of the excellent placement of the 9:30 club coffee table book, my mother-in-law said "I never realized Smackie's t-shirt that says 9:30 on it was a Sesame Street shirt."

Sooo good.

Never buy a TV for it's "Smart" features - you won't use them after a year and you can buy a $35 dongle with a faster processor anyway.

My Sammy had all the smart features and I used them for about 8 months.  Now I use my Chromecast 95% of the time because it's faster and the signal is more reliable.

The cast feature however, is a built-in Chromecast and I think that it will last longer than smart features as it's doesn't run any apps, it just transvereses the web feed.

ok .. I assume this is meant for Sidebitch as I only know what 25% of the words mean…

I understand, but having Hulu and netflix in there is pretty nice and won't have to use the Wii for that kind of stuff.  While I'm familiar with Chromecast, I've not used it yet to be awed by it's awesomeness

Disney+ will be $12.99 monthly
consumers can access Disney+, ESPN+ and (the ad-supported version) Hulu. The deal will be available when Disney+ launches on Nov. 12.

Still never got the chromecast…using my shitty Sammy apps and somewhat happy about it

Disney+ will be $7.99

Disney will offer a $12.99 bundle that also includes ESPN+ ($4.99 standalone) and Hulu with ads ($5.99 stand alone).

I hardly use my Chromecast any longer as well, but I still use it more than my Samsung TV apps, which are still terrible.

The Mrs was given an AppleTV 4K at a tech conference and we use that as our primary streamer.  Kudos to Apple on that front - it's a pretty solid streamer, except  for (1) how often I need the wife's phone to add apps, (2) how many times apps I install on the streamer also show up on her phone (unbelievably stupid) and (3) the remote - great looking but not very useful if your pinpointing ff and rew spots.

The problem with all these Hulu-included packages is none of them ever allow you to pay more for the ad-free Hulu version. Give me ad-free Disney/ESPN/Hulu+ and I’ll give you $15.99 tomorrow. As will virtually 90% of the other Hulu ad-free subscribers.

Same with the recent Spotify bundle.

Had not heard that…kids have been asking for it and I was already paying for Hulu…I'm going to be obvious when I say that… ESPN adds absolutely zero to the purchase for me
Kinda thought Disney+ was going to be $10 a month, so this sounded like a deal
For those not in the know, ESPN+ is not ESPN. You don’t get espn, espn2, espnews or any other cable channel. It’s sporting events that use to be shown on espn.com (sometimes called ESPN3).

Soccer, out of market NHL games, CAA football and one Big XII football game per team (all against bodybag teams) are the “big” draws.

Check that.

Disney+ will be $6.99.

You mean, the purpose of a bundle is not to save you money, but instead for you to pay what looks like a discount for something you might not ever use?  I've never heard of a such a thing.

Thanks buddy!  One of my favorite holidays!
not a lefty, but sympathize with the movement

this quote was one of the best

#LeftHandersDay because in a right-hander's world, this day is all I have left.

You probably already saw this was coming from the FCC filings but here's the first Sonos portable speaker.

Wonder if in wifi-mode it can be put as part of an room with other speakers. Either way, first day purchase for my family.

was thinking about this thread when I saw this
Scientists have identified the genes linked to left-handedness
So now we can start weaning them out of the population!

this was an intriguing statement:  "It has long been known that there are slightly more left-handers amongst patients with schizophrenia than the general population"

Yes I have been following that very closely.  I was sad to not be chosen for the beta group.

Yes it can be grouped with other speakers in your system, though it can not be paired with say, a SONOS One.

I was hoping for around $300; $400 is a little steep in my eyes, but I will likely buy it anyway and sell off the Play:3 in the room that leads out to the backyard for this.  I'm tired of moving that one back and forth.

Lefthandedness is an art, not a science.

Yeah, this is replacing our current guest room (original) Play:1 when it gets here.

Dreams of a new Playbar or smaller sub remain unfulfilled.
seems like this convo should be happening here
