Things Smackie Thinks You Need to Know...

I did enjoy that part, though I would have liked a little more data on what the artists get and what the non-label companies get.  I've simply never done the research.

One sentence says "artists generated" and the next says "companies revenue"….

Any change of ownership that puts them at the mercy of shareholders would be the death of them.
I think they actually paid someone to do this study.  Amazing.

"A new study by internet radio service Pandora shows that too many ads can motivate users to pay for an ad-free version, but push many more to listen less or abandon the service. The study found that the additional subscription revenue does not make up for the lost ad revenue from those who listen less or leave the service."

Why Spotify will Never make Money

"The upshot is, no matter how many subscribers they add, the companies will never enjoy the fat profits of other tech firms. Right now, the streaming services have yet to make any money and, if they ever do, it’s a safe bet the music industry will find a way to claw it back in the form of higher royalties."
with 170 mill subscribers, spotify needs to up it's game on monetizing that customer base on things other than streaming music

competing with the likes of Apple and Amazon, which can afford to lose money on their music offerings as part of a larger customer retention strategy.

They could sell tickets/merch as well as lifestyle stuff

It also had one of those concert "moments" when you know you're seeing something special.  To start the encore Scott played "Poke," an acoustic diddy he's done before.  The majority of the crowd was singing along, then eerily, at the bridge, it was so silent you could hear a pin drop, and even he noticed it.  After a bit of shock, you could hear an exhale throughout the crowd and then a loud cheer.  It was something else to see.

Still in my top 5, maybe top 3 concert moments of all time.

I was hoping the west coast would get the Midnight Organ Fight tour later this year - so sad.  I was really looking forward to it.  Now I will regret not making the trip east to see it.
This took too long, but when I was looking for headphones, only AIAIAI had a build from scratch model that could be converted and were twice as much as these.

Wireless On and Over Ear Headphones

I've got down the over the ear path, but sometimes when I'm walking around in public, I do wish I had on ear headphones….
so am I guaranteed to orgasm when I use these $400 headphones?

Just like every other orgasm, it depends on what you're listening too.
so would you hear yanny or laurel on these?

I only hear yanny, but haven't tried with the headphones.  Will do do tonight - and I do wonder if active noise cancellation has any impact.
I hear laurel…but it's coming out of my shitty speakers on my Surface
I'm just going to put this here as a placeholder until Smackie shows up ready to dissect this.

My money (at 11:17am EST) is on it being Jerry Colangelo.
This is so high on my list of things to breakdown.

Last night I spent the entire night on Anna Delvey.

This morning, it's ben the racist side effects of Ambien.

And now this!  Let's dig in…..
