Things Smackie Thinks You Need to Know...

brian, you should hang out with slappy. you could both be miserable and lash out at the world together.
don't be so harsh on slappy, he's at least been able to liven up the board of late and IMHO most of his shtick is tongue and cheek… BW just wants me watch even more VH1 celebreality shows and continue to destroy the fabric of society.
What are you escaping from?

i seriously hope this make BW's head explode… (hint it also means that i too often play video games more than six hours a week and just got the replacement Guitar Hero III disc in the mail)

but I routinely will play a nintendo DS games while also watching TV… there is nothing like battling lego stormtroppers while watching the daily show on the dvr…

(another hint, i'm not looking for anything more than a little escapism, fun, etc when playing video games)
You think being a 9:30 BBS moderator is easy work????

And for anyone of you who have even played a Zelda game, this Robot Chicken parody is sure to make you laugh!

Ha. Nice.

My favorite comment: "Plus I think it's bs that Link's still a virgin. You know he was kickin' it with Saria in the Lost Woods from Ocarina."
If this has been discussed on the board, my apologies.

If it hasn't, it should be.

Boffins stretch Wi-Fi signals to 100km

By John E. Dunn, Techworld

Intelâ??s researchers have come up with a way to send Wi-Fi signals up to 60 miles (100km), while maintaining a usable throughput of up to 6.5Mbits/s.

According to MITâ??s Technology Review, the system is known as the 'rural connectivity platform' (RCP) for the way it can, at relatively low cost, connect towns to out-of-the-way locations otherwise bypassed by new communication technologies.

This is to be more than a lab engineerâ??s daydream and has been field tested in India, Panama, Vietnam and South Africa.

Good lord, if I could get wi-fi of 6.5Mbits/s in my apt I'd be stoked, let alone over 100km.

But truthfully, if they're working on wi-fi at that range they're wasting their time. Wi-Max is reaching speeds of nearly a Gig at equal or further distances.
i've never been tyneside. i just liked that they had england's captain and an awesome beer on their shirt

and i think my cable bill speaks for itself. but, if anyone calls me out again, i'll give them a five minute speach about charles n'zogbia's proper position

(its not left back)

i'm sure you're aware that you are getting 6.5 if not more - between your computer and the router (even 802.11b peaks at 11 Mbit/s). the bottleneck is from router to the intertubes. so rural folks probably won't be getting 6.5 connection to the outside world, only 6.5 to the connection point.

I, too, see the irony.

I've even been to Liverpool but wasn't able to make it over to Manchester.

Actually, I misread it in my haste this afternoon and thought it was 6.5MB's (bytes, not bits).

Thanks for catching that.

in which case you need to check this out. c'mon, you know you want to…
I'm going to save everybody from my annual thread praising the Original London Concept of Jesus Christ Superstar. Murray Head, Ian Gillian, Gary Glitter, Yvonne Elliman….the movie pales in comparison to this version.

Happy Easter.
